Quite possibly many of the 2/3 might support impeachment, but feel the idea of venturing down that road knowing that it’s going to begin and end as nothing more than a rant and a vote by House GOPers that will drive up Obama’s popularity and die on Harry Reid’s desk.

What does effective impeachment (conviction) mean in practice? That he wouldn’t get his lifetime severance income? That he would be charged with the crimes he is impeached for and assessed a prison sentence? Really, these things haven’t been considered before.
If it means just an early retirement, what good is it?

Impeachment does not mean you are sending the person to jail. Impeachment means that The House of Representatives is asking The United States Senate to look at the performance and behavior of the President.
The President of The United States is not a king or queen. The President is an employee of the citizens of The United States.

Impeachment might in this case be the first step in the right direction ...

In order for a President to be removed by the Senate (which has never happened), I imagine this number would need to be >75%.
In order for articles to pass the House, it would certainly need to be >50%.

75 percent is a daunting number....
the alternative to impeachment is tacit approval via passivity
