I found myself in Southern Arizona recently on a business trip. While there, my coworker and I had to pull over into one of the border checkpoints. We showed our ID and they told us to have a good day. I stopped and thanked the agent for the work he does and I am very grateful we have people like him doing that job.
I feel terrible for these agents. They really get screwed by our government for trying to do their jobs.
My brother drove a big rig for a little while, I rode along once. We were stopped at a high-tech checkpoint, they asked a few questions and then asked us who was in the sleeper?
Obviously their scanners detected heat and maybe a heartbeat back there.
It was my brothers dog of course.
Thank you for that. My husband retired as a fairly senior officer. Every time that we go on post through the MP gates, my husband thanks the MP for his service to the country.
