Russian President Vladimir Putin’s daughter is living with a Dutch boyfriend in the Netherlands as the country reels from last week’s jetliner missile attack by Ukrainian rebels with Russian-supplied weapons, according to reports Wednesday.

Outrage over Maria Putin’s presence in the grief-stricken country — which lost 193 citizens aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 — is fueling calls for her deportation, The Guardian reported.

Ukrainians living in the Netherlands are also planning a protest outside Maria’s apartment in the wealthy suburb of Voorschoten, outside The Hague, according to De Telegraaf newspaper.

Pieter Broertjes, mayor of the city of Hilversum, demanded the ouster of Maria, 29, during a radio interview Wednesday, as the country held a day of mourning and church bells tolled to announce the arival of the first bodies from Thursday’s plane crash.

I was one of them, but failing to add the /sarcasm tag apparently confused some folks.

If the 2016 POTUS election is Lizzie Warren vs NJFatboy, I may still write in Putin.

That’s BS!! You got totally ripped off dude! You gotta set it straight. Take 3G and get back over there. Amsterdam then surrounding towns. Take the tours and meet the locals. If you’re a ‘real’ American they will be drawn to you. They get it. You’ll feel more at home there than anywhere here. Do it. Wear some US Army swag and you might not even have to pay in the small town bars. Go to the small towns around the cities and have a great time. They’ll take care of you!

Okay. But you’re okay with them lynching someone’s daughter for what her father & country might or might not have done?

Yep - it appears that way. This thread is instructive as to why we do not want democracy and mob rule. Even some FReepers apparently do not understand basics like personal responsibility as it applies to guilt / innocence and want to blame a daughter for actions of the father. Its emotional, irrational and wrong but that is how some people "think".

Went there last year, I love the country, in spite of all of their liberalism.

My brother visited the Netherlands while he was still attached to the 101st Airborne.

He was treated like a king.

So I guess that applies to George Bush who after 911 whisked all of the relatives of Osama Bin Laden out of the country overnight pronto.

Why they were individuals too. They didn’t do anything.

But they were still ushered out of the country without hesitation.

Or is your memory that short

Get over it —

I don't know what measure you use to define 'shitty country', but compare:

Russia:

Gross domestic product
2.015 trillion USD (2012)

Population
143.5 million ‎(2012)

GDP per capita
14,037.02 USD ‎(2012)

Life expectancy
70.46 years ‎(2012)

The Netherlands"

Gross domestic product
772.2 billion USD (2012)

Population
16.77 million ‎(2012)

GDP per capita
45,989.68 USD ‎(2012)

Life expectancy
81.10 years ‎(2012)

Conclusion:

Netherlands has 1/10th the population of mineral-rich Russia but produces a 1/3rd of Russia's entire GDP.

People in The Netherlands live a long time and have about the highest standard of living on the planet.

Russia, by comparison, is... well, there is no comparison between these two nations. One absolutely rocks, the other sucks donkey balls and is filled with beet-nibbling chronically alcoholic Slavs. Even more contrast than the difference between North Korea and South Korea. End of discussion.

What crime did Osama Bin Laden’s relatives commit???

Did Bush usher them out of the country or not???

Did you accuse him of “emoting” for doing so at the time???
