Ex-IRS official Lois Lerners computer hard drive was scratched and the data on it was still recoverable. But the IRS did not try to recover the data from Lerners hard drive, despite recommendations from in-house IRS IT experts to outsource the recovery project.
The hard drive was then shredded, according to a court filing the IRS made to House Ways and Means Committee investigators.

Didn’t that lead to impeachment?
Lois Lerner needs to be in a Federal Prison
Articles of impeachment were being prepared for Nixon about that time but he resigned first and was not impeached.
at a minimum
yeah but you get the idea right?
so how serious and recoverable is scratched?
It seems she was using a laptop. She is a sloppy computer user/internet user/email user prone to chatting about political actions via e-mail. This says to me she would take this laptop home sometimes and chat away on it there too
What was her private g-mail or yahoo account that she also used for “chatting”?
I don’t know what they mean by “scratched”...
Do they mean a head crash that damaged the disk surface? That only takes out a small amount of data.
We’ve entered Bizarro world...
That’s probably what taking the 5th amendment is about.
Keeping a gmail/yahoo or equivalent Email address hidden. There are likely backups of those accounts that expose who she actually communicated with. Without the address it is all buried. But... By finding out what her home/office IP addresses were the various free online Email accounts could be searched to find all the accounts that used both those IP addresses.
And then it would be exposed.
10,000 stories about Lois Lerners PC hard drive and not a single one about the IRS email servers. This tells me the press, general public, and Congress are all utterly ignorant of how email systems operate. The only other explanation is this is all political theater ginned up by FedGov knowing that the general public is ignorant in regard to the operation of email systems.
No federal e-mail system allows e-mails to reside solely on the computers of the senders/recipients. They are all on servers, backed up to infinity. The focus on the hard drive is, as the butler in the movie “Clue” stated, a red herring.
