The best way on TV to shut up a loudmouth is with another loudmouth. Ive learned that Tea Party advocate Tammy Bruce the outspoken nationally syndicated radio show host, author, and Fox News talking head is being considered for a hosting slot on The View as the so-called "anti-Rosie". What makes this especially interesting is that Bruce reportedly was suggested to the show by Sarah Palin. "I dont think Sarah Palin is being considered to be a panelist on the show. I think shes working behind the scenes to help them cast the conservative," an insider tells me. "Tammy and Palin are close friends, and I think they are hot on Tammy because of Palin. They want the show to be politically combative, and Tammy would certainly be the anti-Rosie in every possible way."
Bruces website describes her as a "gay, pro-choice, gun-owning, pro-death penalty Tea Party Independent conservative". Im told Bruce just had a meeting with ABC about potentially joining the show. She has been a talking head at Fox News for over a decade now "but she was surprised that ABC had interest in her for The View, considering shes only been booked on the show as a guest once. And she doesnt have an agent that was pushing her. They literally just called out of the blue. She says the meeting went well."
Right before last weeks announcement that liberal Rosie ODonnell was re-joining The View, media outlets reported that Palin was "dropping hints" that she might want to be a panelist. Asked by The Hollywood Reporter if she had any interest in doing a political talk show, Palin replied, "I hear everyone recently got canned from The View [so] maybe a show like that needs a punch of reality and a voice of reason from Americas heartland to knock some humble sense into their scripts. You know, someone willing to go rogue." But Palin did not go so far as to suggest herself.
From 1990 for 7 years, Bruce served as president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women and two years on NOWs board of directors, but later criticized the group in her book. She resigned in 1996 after the NOW Executive Board voted nearly unanimously to censure Bruce for what it claimed were racially insensitive comments during the OJ Simpson murder trial. In 2003, Bruce was appointed to Arnold Schwarzeneggers California gubernatorial transition team.
Tammy Bruce is more libertarian than conservative. She would still make the lefty heads explode.
You know, we all don’t agree on every issue. Tammy is a lot more conservative on the issues than a lot of our other standare-bearers. She is intellectually honest about the stuff we disagree about.
It will be like when Joy Behar tried to take on Ann Coulter.
She'd have to be pretty desperate for attention to go on that show.
That show is for the clueless, I bet Hasselbeck is a happy she got that Fox and Friends gig.
If she wants that miserable but probably high salary job, I hope she gets it.
She’s a smart woman and a free thinker. Basically the opposite of most of the rest of the View panelists.
Her addition would be a breath of fresh air to a stale audience of liberal ewes and cows.
No conservative, even one as odd as Tammy Bruce, should want to step a foot into that pig sty of a studio
not that I consider her a conservative
She might be a fiscal conservative but as far as social issues go she is as left-wing as they come. So Tammy Bruce and her pro-abort, sodomite views should get along quite well on The View.
“Homosexual activism fighting for rights based on sexual deviancy and oxymoronic same-sex marriage are the antithesis of conservatism. Certainly, practicing homosexuals can vote Republican and be conservative on various issues taxes, foreign policy, etc. And they can even oppose what I call the Big Gay Government agenda, which is in the vanguard of repressing religious freedom ironically, in the name of nondiscrimination. But I have found that usually the personal gay aspect of gay conservatives dominates and drives them to be very anti-conservative on that particular issue. An example is supposed conservative and open lesbian Tammy Bruce. She is terrific on many issues and an articulate critic of leftist excesses. But when it comes to her pet issue, homosexuality, Bruce at times has behaved like a typical irrational, left-wing extremist”

Disappointed in Sarah.
Then I don't care what her social beliefs are and neither should you. The fact is, she has a mean independent, libertarian streak and is adept at making an argument right up there with other top conservatives such as Ingraham and Palin.
BTW, she supports abortion and homosexual rights but doesn't support it at the point of a gun by the federal government, the gaystapo, the abortion lobby, or rogue courts. States would have their own laws, as the way it should be.
Love Palin. Don’t know much about Bruce except for what I’m told on FR. Moot point for me, though. Won’t be watching the View except for 1 second while channel surfing over. TV is usually off that time of day anyway.
Apparently you do not read any of her blogs or listen to her take on politics. She is more conservative than a lot of folks.... And on the whole her leanings tend to be libertarian. She is pro gun (2nd amendment), anti-big government, rightly called O a malignant narcissist, is pro death penalty, is anti-NOW....
Easily remedied:
Tammy Bruce is the antithesis of how conservative women are normally portrayed in popular culture. While not a perfect conservative, she's the perfect conservative for a show such as The View. For that reason, I have a hard time imagining the network will pull the trigger.
We'll see.
Conservatives are not sodomite baby killers. I could care less if she claims to be a “conservative” because she touts small government and the 2nd amendment. So do libertarians, who are as liberal as the day is long on social issues.
A conservative lesbian. Tammy would definitely be a bit more sane, perhaps the ONLY sane one, on that show.
But hey, “The View” is going to be CRAP no matter who is on it.
Fire Whoopi.
