I just returned from Publix market in Miami where very large, nicely ripened Bing cherries were available for the third week in a row for $1.99 per pound. These are twice the size of those available some years ago, and the price in constant value dollars is less.
Keep Washington out of the food industry - Jefferson was right.

Big Government is in charge of the food system. Remember the Dairy Compact? The Egg Board? Peanut licensing? They were dumping millions of pounds of cherries and taking upwards of half the grape harvest in order to artificially keep prices high.
