2014-07-19 : St. Petersburg, FL
We had about 35 Patriots show-up at the Overpass "Anti-Immigration" rally at I-275 and 54th Street.
Traffic volume suggests that we reached almost 20,000 drivers with the message, over a three-hour period.
Photographs will be published as soon as they're available.
The most noteworthy event was the appearance of a "Professional Air Survelliance Drone".
The drone was not the typical $ 300 drone that's available at Brookstone. Nor was it a Dragan Flyer series.
The drone was a quad-copter, white in color, with a solid structrual interface between the center section (oval shaped) and the four copter-pods.
The drone was clearly a professional grade unit, looking to cost avout $ 1,500 to $ 3,500.
Our protest group noticed the drone as it hovered southeast of our position, and then moved to photograph the other protest patriots on the other side of the overpass.
I took a walk to investigate and discovered the drone operator in the parking lot of the nearby Comfort Inn, about 500 yards from our location on the overpass.
He was a caucasian gentlemen in his thirties, about 5' 8-inches, with a light beard, wearing a hat to protect him from the sun.
I introduced myself, handled him my business card, and asked who he was, and why he was filming us with his drone.
He refused to identify himself.
I returned about 15 minutes later with three other members of the protest group, and we collectively asked him to identify himself.
Again, he refused.
This session was recorded via photographs, and we obtained pictures of his vehicle and license plate number.
After he had been filmed, he abruptly left, but only after he appeared to be sending text massages from inside his closed vehicle.
Apart from the mystery drone survelliance guest, it was a splendid operation.

A twenty-two caliber surface-to-air missile would have solved the problem.

Sounds like a DJI Phantom. I have one, and it’s a great rig. They’re also very common among the amateur journalism crowd.

We had someone circle the overpass multiple times over several hours on a bullet bike with a camera mounted on handle bars a few months ago. Tampa overpass. I took photos of him and his Fl tag just to have it. Thought it might have been a pissed off OWS member or something. They hung banners on that overpass twice, that I know, months before we started. I figured they did it for pay and the pay dried up. Those kind of trolls are too lazy to stand in the hot son even for a paycheck. It was creepy though.

post pics of the vehicle, plate and operator
he was in a public place... he had no reasonable expectation of privacy (which is how he’s able to video the protest without warrant)
identification would be next

Excellent report! Looking forward to the fotos, especially the one of the drone going down in flames and cratering. Expect contact from the friendly folks at the IRS.

Steel Wolf,
You're the man !
Indeed, it was a DJI series drone, and my cost estimate was fairly accurate with it's $ 1,400 price tag.

Thank you, sir. And you're more right than you thought on the price. The current base model Phantom 2 is about $1200, but once you get into accessories, like spare rotors, batteries, travel case, radios, camera and gimbal, etc, you're easily in for $2000-$3000. It's like owning a firearm - the weapon itself is just one expense out of many.
Here is my local outfitter, who I swear by. This will show what your really in for, price wise. - Aerial Media Pros
Anyway, I doubt your observer friend was in government. If he took an undue interest in your event, and wasn't chatty, he probably wasn't an enthusiast out for a Sunday drive. Most people who fly these professionally are journalists, photographers and realtors.

White House factotums are duping Americans----falsely citing a 2008 law which they "say" forces them to settle Central American families in the United States until judges decide if they can stay. However, the 2008 law was designed to allow severely-traumatized victims of forced trafficking such as teenage prostitutes held by violent pimps to apply for green cards.=============================================
THE FACTS ARE THESE --- "impoverished" Central American families pay so-called coyotes thousands of dollars to get across the border......knowing they'll soon be in the money, riding the lucrative US gravy train....sucking off US taxpayers.
Many of the family units (new Democrat voters) are temporarily held then secretly transported to cities where they have relatives or friends.
The Obama govt has kept these resettlement efforts secrets in order to mute protests....claiming the border swarm are "children" escaping violence.
==================================================
Now a growing wave of nationwide protests, and denunciations from governors and federal legislators has erupted.
Looks like the "Father of Transparency" has been exposed.
