I think the story line would be that Ukrainian fighter jets intercepted the 777, forced it to divert and then escorted it to a point above the Russian missile base all the while giving the impression that the flight of three aircraft was military.

This report seems to contain a lot of speculation and unconfirmed claims, but the bit about having military jets close to the commercial airliners is supported by the videos showing chaff falling on the wreckage.

Think about it, if you were going to divert a commercial airliner through an area that had two military planes shot down, would you not at least be concerned and maybe send an escort ? Especially if they were diverted because of weather.

And the link I posted above also makes some conclusions that are speculations. That site usually runs 80 % correct in its speculations which is very good for a blogger.

Bulls**t. Military chaff looks nothing like that. In fact, chaff dispenses in a CLOUD of small, thin wires (with each cut so as to reflect a different wavelength of radar). Anyone with a basic knowledge of physics can tell you that a piece of metal the size of the "chaff" in that video couldn't reflect the wavelengths necessary to jam a radar-guided missile. For example, this is actual chaff:

What that video shows is something like toilet paper or other debris. You are either completely ignorant about what you are posting, or you are a Russian shill...

That is not chaff in the video. It is burning debris falling down around the wrecked heavier parts. No way chaff descends that fast. Defeats the purpose. Try this:

Given the rebels don't have an air force, what would be the point of giving the airliner a military escort?

A truck-mounted Buk battery has four missiles. Even if one of the escort fighters survives, he's not going to bother you unless he has a nuke.
