In my whole career I was never in the air when a missile locked on us except once; on a C-130 flying into Tuzla, Bosnia on a flight from Ramstein. All I was doing was going to teach computer security to the Intel staff of IFOR.
When the anti-missile device started wailing, the pilot dropped the bird like a stone. I think I went weightless for a second. I thought we were crashing. Scariest moment in my life. And then I noticed the crew looking at us passengers (me and a captain) with shit-eatin’ grins. (Lucky we were wearing BDUs to hide the wet spots). Bastages!
First possibility was surface-to-air missile, then air-to-air missile, then bomb or "incident" aboard the plane, then plane diverted from path.....
What's next, possible hi-jacking attempt, perhaps pilot suicide by intentional crashing....maybe collision with UFO......
Stay tuned.....the daily news is never dull anymore, mostly nerve-wracking or horrific. We are living in chaotic times.

giggling. I hate, absolute hate, freefall, even if it is on a 40 foot drop at Silver Dollar City. Love to fly though.
