Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue. Lovely plumage.

The Monty Python reunion in London began on July 1, and after a 10-day break, picks up again tonight at the O2 Arena for the final five nights that will see Eric Idle, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin on the same stage together, doing silly things one more time.

It’s not pining, it’s passed on. This parrot is no more! It has ceased to be. It’s expired and gone to meet its maker. This is a late parrot. It’s a stiff. Bereft of life, it rests in peace. If you hadn’t nailed it to the perch it would be pushing up the daisies. It’s rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. This is an ex-parrot.

Truly a funny show, but its makers are way past prime and should be allowed to settle into the foggy foggy British sunset. That being said, where are the Dinsdale brothers who could easily take on the Muzzies?

Vercotti Well I had noticed that the lad with the thermo-nuclear device was the Chief Constable for the area. Anyway a week later they came back, said that the cheque had bounced and that I had to see Doug.

Interviewer Doug?

Vercotti Doug (takes a drink) I was terrified of him. Everyone was terrified of Doug. I've seen grown men pull their own heads off rather than see Doug. Even Dinsdale was frightened of Doug.

Interviewer What did he do?

Vercotti He used.........sarcasm. He knew all the tricks, dramatic irony, metaphor, bathos, puns, parody, litotes and satire.

Potters Field Park.

The Perfect Place for a Parrot. This parrot, anyway.

I suspect this will be the last time the Pythons will be together ... until the afterlife. They’re all getting a bit long in the tooth.

Without Graham, it’s like the Beatles reuniting without John.

And I’m not sure Python humor gets better with age. The original stuff, yes. It’s as hilarious today as it was back in the 60s. But I’m not sure whether seeing a wrinkled Michael Palin doing the “Lumberjack Song” would be funny as much as disturbing.

It’s like seeing a geriatric Mick Jagger singing “Brown Sugar.” Kind of embarrassing, even if nostalgic.
