The issues of gender equality and womens rights are being used by Democrats in the Kentucky U.S. Senate race to illustrate the disconnect between Kentucky U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell and women voters as a pro-choice group begins to run ads in the state and a big name McConnell foe criticizes his stances.
NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC, a group which has endorsed Democratic candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes and called her a pro-choice champion, released an ad Tuesday to run statewide in Kentucky for a week.
The group says the 30-second ad, titled Mitch McConnell Will Never Do the Right Thing for Kentucky Women, is running in advance of a vote in the U.S. Senate aimed at restoring the contraceptive coverage requirement under the Affordable Care Act.
That legislation comes after the U.S. Supreme sided with Hobby Lobby in a case which sought to exclude companies with religious owners from complying with the health care laws requirement that they provide all Food and Drug Administration-approved forms of birth control in their health plans. Hobby Lobby still does provide 16 of 20 types of contraceptives approved by the FDA, the case pertained to providing four drugs that could induce abortions.
The Pro-Choice America ad uses video from a McConnell video with an announcer saying: he thinks it is fine to pay women less and then take away insurance for birth control so they have more out of pocket expenses.
The fact that Alison Lundergan Grimes cannot even support Sen. McConnells common-sense efforts to curb late-term abortions shows Kentuckians that her agenda aligns with President Obama and extreme pro-abortion groups in Washington, McConnell spokeswoman Allison Moore said in a statement.

Buy your own damn contraceptives or make your boyfriend buy them. What’s so hard about that? That’s how it’s been for the last 50 years. Geez
Rand Slams Congress for Funding Egypt's Generals: 'How Does Your Conscience Feel Now?'Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt's military -- even as Cairo's security forces massacre anti-government activists. Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.[Posted on 11/19/2013 12:16:51 PM by Third Person]
Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.[Posted on 01/31/2013 5:08:50 PM PST by xzins]
Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...[Posted on 04/21/2013 1:52:42 PM PDT by SoConPubbie]
[but he's not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
Calling abortion “healthcare” is akin to calling child sexual rape “love.”
Who needs American babies we can import them already tattooed from the sewers south of the border? BTW: How much more does it cost to “educate” a “toddler” from El Salvador than it does to educate a kid from America? Anybody know?
The real conundrum for me is this: Leftists SAY that their contraception is not their boss’s business, right? Well, if it is not the boss’s business, why do you expect the boss to pay for it?
the country is nearly broke, it is being overrun by illegals, health care has been nearly ruined, iraq is in shambles, the economy is terrible, unemployment is terrible, obama is acting like an inept dictator...
But ignore all that and vote democrat, cause we’ll give you free abortion pills.
Horse manure, Medicare dictates what test or procedure I can have. I have severe drug induced Osteoporosis, I need a yearly bone density scan for the best medical treatment, yet am denied it by Medicare. You can only have 1 ever 2 yrs. This does not allow my PCP to keep a good check on my progress, or lack there of.
PSA for men have gone to every 2 years.
Nerve blocks for spinal pain patients are reduced to 3 per year.
NOW TELL ME AGAIN WHO IS RESTRICTING MY HEALTH CARE?
AND ON 4/14/14 I AND ALL TRICARE LIFE RETIRED MILITARY WERE MANDATED TO ORDER DAILY MEDS FROM A FRAUDULENT COMPANY, WITH HIGH CUSTOMER DISSATISFACTION FOR SENDING THE WRONG MEDS. AND HOLDING YOUR OTHER MEDS HOSTAGE UNTIL YOU PAY FOR A DRUG YOU DID NOT ORDER, AND THEY OVER RIDE A DAW SCRIPT YOUR DOCTOR WRITES FOR A LESSER PERFORMING GENERIC. THESE VERY EXPENSIVE DRUGS ARE SHOVED IN A HOT, HUMID MAIL BOX BY THE USPS WITH NO PHOTO ID SIGN FOR. 1 DRUG COST $900 RETAIL, THE OTHER NEARLY AS MUCH. EVERY 3 MONTHS.
WE HAVE A LOT OF KIDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, THEY AND DANGEROUS MEDS DO NOT MIX WELL.
