Online rants, anti-government radicals fuel fear of U.S. cop killings

The celebrating began before the coroner could collect the bodies of Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo, the Las Vegas patrol officers ambushed and executed while eating at a pizzeria last month.

“The good news is, there are two less police in the world,” read an entry on the Facebook page for CopBlock.org.

The post was visible for less than a day, but it attracted at least 6,300 likes and comments by the time the page’s administrators removed it.

Jerad Miller — who along with his wife, Amanda, gunned down the Vegas police officers before dying during a shootout with police — was one of Cop Block’s 780,000-plus Facebook fans.

The decentralized advocacy group says it disavows violence while spreading a belief that “badges don’t grant extra rights.”

But the Millers, described by investigators as anti-government extremists, had a deadly animosity for authority.

And the narrative that passes for news and information directed at the stupid people in this country...

Sadly continues...

Anyone I know that wants to murder a law enforcement officer (anywhere) would have to crawl over my dead body to do so...

The setup with all of this is obvious...When the Feds mobilize, we already know the court of public opinion, and other forced will all be on the same page to oppose those of us who resist the final steps...

I just shrug my shoulders and just think, “ok, fine”...

The comments to that article are interesting. It seems that even our fellow citizens on the left are not pleased with the domestic enforcement arm of our masters, either. Although thinking about it, those of us that love our God given liberty may be the ones that are a little late to that particular party.

anti-government extremists

That's an awfully broad brush. What does it mean to be "anti-government"? Are these just anarchists or do they include people who believe in and understand the Constitutional limits of government?

There wasn't any celebrating on FR that I recall. Also, weren't the perps Democrats?

Nobody here celebrates when a cop is killed.
People here get upset at dogs being shot, not attack dogs, regular one like an Irish Setter. They also get upset at forced entries at the wrong address at 3 in the morning, forcing people to lay on the floor for extended time, mess up the house and leave without so much as I'm sorry.
The mrap’s and swat teams in small towns cause a lot of conversation. People are becoming afraid of cops and the government.
It shouldn't be that way

I second every word you said. Back when I was growing up, in the 50's and 60's the local cops were our friends and neighbors but today they are working diligently at becoming our masters and unfriendly goons just looking for a reason to pounce on us. No small wonder there is so much animosity towards them these days. God help us.

Actually, they are mostly killed by gang-bangers, domestic quabbles and criminals.

Then end sovereign immunity. It’s judge made law and would be easy to legislate away. Is that even on any party’s platform?

Mostly cops aren’t killed. Are police officers even in the top ten for work death risk?

Then end sovereign immunity

Were I to run for office, by platform would be to make EVERY LAW applicable to lawmakers and federal officialdom. No more Obamacare exemptions, no more special pension plans, the list goes on.

Wouldn’t that be an easy, “no brainer” solution? I could see people flocking to your banner already.
