Mahmoud Abbas, the sometimes moderate, often ineffectual leader of the Palestinian Authority, just asked his rivals in Hamas a question that other bewildered people are also asking: What are you trying to achieve by sending rockets?
The Gaza-based Hamas has recently fired more than 500 rockets at Israeli towns and cities. This has terrorized the citizenry, though caused few casualties, in large part because Israel is protected by the Iron Dome anti-rocket system.
In reaction to these indiscriminately fired missiles, Israel has bombarded targets across Gaza. Compared with violent death rates in other parts of the Middle East, the number of dead in Gaza is small. (More than 170,000 people have been killed in the Syrian civil war to date.) But it is large enough to suggest an answer to Abbass question: Hamas is trying to get Israel to kill as many Palestinians as possible.

Hamas is trying to get Israel to kill as many Palestinians as possible.
No, not really, but perhaps as many civilians as necessary
to allow the propaganda machine to turn once again
on Israel as the oppressor.
They’re trying to prove to the world that they’re violent, irrational, ignorant morons of the type (all too common these days) who will happily watch someone else achieve something or do something worthy of note, then try to steal it.
We have a great many such characters here in the USA, too.
And they’ve long since proved their lamentable case.
Hamas is trying to prove: that hooting primates banging rocks together are smarter and more civilized than your average Hamas member, or Muslim for that matter.
Hamas is financed and armed by Iran. This current rocket barrage is being done on their behalf. Iranian observers are monitoring the response and capabilities of Israel’s Iron Dome defense. When Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, Iran will counterattack with long range ballistic missiles launched from Iran and short range missiles fired from Syria and Lebanon. Unless their counterattack is successful, Israel will methodologically destroy their nuclear facilities over a period of four or five days. It will not be a single raid. If Iran is causing widespread devastation with its counterattack, Israel may not be able to complete the task.
They are trying to prove that they are forking Rocket Scientists.
Hamas is trying to get the war on Israel started. I’m sure they’re hoping the surrounding Arab countries and Iran
will join in. They misunderestimated everyone.
No, they know better. the Arabs have being payinf Hamas off for decades to keep them in their Gaza jail.
The Hamas action is bought and paid for by Iran. Iran is fearful of the actions by ISIL and wants the focus back on the old standby trouble with Israel.
The blood is on Iranian hands
Bunch of rocket surgeons...that’s them.
Why is Hamas firing rockets into Israel resulting in the deaths of far more Palestinians than Israelis? Because they are very stupid and very violent. And many of them are cowards who send other people to their deaths while they cower in safe places.
Pop Quiz.
What is Gaza famous for:
A. Free universities
B. Water projects to support expanded agriculture.
C. Advanced technological development
D. Hurling rockets at their neighbor.
I think they are trying to win a publicity war (and they do).
They can’t win a military war.
Hamas started pulling the trigger because Iran told them to. ISIS is parting out a landlocked area in Iraq and Syria, and what’s left of the (like it or not) elected Iraqi gubmint created with the help of the US is circling the drain.
Iran’s gambit to take power in Egypt (with the ever-present help of sanctions-lifting Zero and his cadre) has failed, but their insurgency in the Sinai has managed to keep the Egyptian army busy and the smuggling tunnels into Gaza operating (despite what has been said for a year or more). Look for a major upsurge in large riots in Egyptian cities, all of them attributed to the Israeli “oppression” of the poor helpless Hamas terrorists.
The Arab borders in the Middle East are rapidly becoming meaningless — and guess who benefits from that? It won’t be Israel.
Netanyahu finally speaks his mind

Hamas is lining up the obama team.
Questions?
Why do Manhattan Jewish leftist media morons like Jeffy Goldberg think the murdeous hatred the Muslims like Hamas and Barry does not apply to them ?Jon Stewart aka Jon Lebowisk is a shinning example of clueless leftists enabling the Muslims like Barry and the Israel hating Radical Dem party.
Hense all the puke worthy, hysterical, idiotic liberal media reports of “civilians” killed in Gaza by the Israeli military, doesn't really pass any logical BS meter.
While it appears the primary goal of the UN is to label killing random civilian Jewish people to be an acceptable exercise of Islamic religious goals, most sane people do not agree.
For Hamas, killing and injuring some Jews and terrorizing the rest is its own reward. Maybe we don’t need to over-analyze it.
LOL, or maybe they are trying to prove to the world, that they can take a severe a$$ whuppin, and wanted to prove that Israeli precision guided weapons would work perfectly.
85% of Jews voted for Obama. Keep thinking that only “Manhattan Jews” don’t get it.
To non whites, especially non Christians, Democrats are clearly seen a the way to avoid Christian hegemony.
