President Bush put a DemocRAT, Michael Browne, in charge of FEMA.

I listen to Michael quite a bit on his Denver radio program. If he is a dem you'd never guess it. Some of the best radio on the air.

I’m not mistaken that Perry gave the ‘dreamers’ the same tuition as citizens of Texas?

Rick Perry stepped in it again on Fox with Brit Hume today. Perry has been asking for the National Guard. Hume asked what he wanted the Guard to do since they don't have arrest powers, or the ability to shoot at them. Perry vapor locked and started talking about optics. Duh. When Perry doesn't even know what he wants to do Guard troops, it makes the request look like a political ploy.

I think the Guard is a good idea. If I was the Governor I would request MPs, supply types, some Lakotas with cameras, and maybe some engineers to throw up some temp barriers to create some tactical (extremely local) choke points. Maybe if we mobilized some JAG corps types who could be sworn in as immigration judges and then process the OTMs for immediate deportation. Between JAG corp and rehiring some retired judges we could probably speed thing a up quite a bit. The objective of this is to not move any illegals out of the area where they were captured other than a jet plane home.

*************

The foot hold has been gained.

Currently, at least 18 states have provisions allowing in-state tution rates for undocumented
students. Fourteen states provide these provisions through state legislation—California,
Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico,
New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington. Two states—Oklahoma
and Rhode Island— allow in-state tuition rates to undocumented students through
Board of Regents decisions.

California, Minnesota, New Mexico, Texas and Washington—currently allow undocumented
students to receive state financial aid.

Is it the same Michael Browne? If so, then that would explain why the 'RATS were comfortable criticizing FEMA's efforts after Katrina.

Maybe they considered him a DINO.

That border was part of Texas before it was ever a part of the US — that makes it Perry’s legal and physical responsibility as much as Obama’s.

Yep —

The whole idea is to contain it in south Texas and then export them from there.

That’s why Obama is quickly dispersing this riff raff from Texas to around the country.

Excuse me, but I don't think Michael Brown was a Democrat.

My recollection is that he was from Oklahoma, where he ran for office as a Republican.

Wikipedia confirms.

As much as many of us “dissed” Bush on this forum, he was a gazillion times better than the current mongrel in the white hut.

I think you’d benefit from civics 101
You don’t seem to understand what a state can and can not do
I see how easy it is to be tough in here.

my discussion with you is finished

The DNC machine in Louisiana failed completely to function and left millions of people at the mercy of the storm.

I recall one of the networks interviewing a group of black refugees in a Houston gymnasium. The interviewer kept trying to get the group to blame Bush for their straits. But the refugees would have none of it and unanimously directed their ire toward Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagin -- totally absolving President Bush.

Reminds me of something that happened the first time Bush ran for president. They were out trying to register Mexican farm workers here in our county to vote. The farm workers were saying among themselves as they were lining up, “I like that Bush guy”, so the vote registrars gathered up their stuff and left.

Would that be BO — Before Obama or AO — After Obama.

EXACTLY. Aid was stationed at the Texas/Louisiana border before the storm hit. I saw it.

The rat governor of Louisiana and the rat mayor of NO failed to take the steps necessary to mobilize that aid.

Additionally, Sean Hannity really opened my eyes when he went down to the TX border last week. Perry was really hands on and knowledgeable. He was naturally commanding of ‘his’ border control forces and was working well with federal BP. He looked pretty damn presidential.

I think Perry did respond with some of your points this morning. He definitely said that national guard could do logistics so that BP could focus on screening and anti-drug activities.

On Hannity he was emphasizing drones for surveillance rather than your Lakotas but he was talking about them being operated by NG/military.

And optics are going to be needed to overcome the message that Obama sent .. that todos will have promisos

The media turned Katrina into a dirty word for Bushpublicans. Nothing - not any of these scandals - are Obamas Katrina until the media says it is and they ain’t saying so.
