S.F. to water agency: We need to spray away our poop
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | July 11, 2014 | Kurtis Alexander

San Francisco officials say something smells funny about a state proposal to rein in water hogs.

The new regulations, expected to be adopted Tuesday, include a statewide ban on washing streets and sidewalks. That could put the brakes on a critical municipal chore in San Francisco: sending out city trucks to spray away the heaps of filth downtown.

"Our very strong concern is that human feces or heavy urination, which we get quite a few complaints about, still get cleaned up," said Public Works Department spokeswoman Rachel Gordon. "Our people are inquiring."

We should first cut off all water to SF, then the federal government should sue them for flushing human waste into the ocean.

ps: when referring to human waste in san francisco in this context , I am referring to the poop, not the citizens.

If the state was run by capitalists and not socialists the problem would never have showed up.

Build more reservoirs and there would be plenty of water.
Drill for oil and gas and the state would not have any debt and the price of energy would drop and business would be booming.

Instead you have the socialists thinking about poop.
I bet they are thinking that more taxes are needed.

Last time I checked, SF was on, like, the PACIFIC OCEAN. Why don’t they just drive a few spray trucks down to the Bay, rig a fill pump if the trucks aren’t already equipped with one, and fill up there?

Or better yet, tell the Pelosi voters to quit pooping on the sidewalk.

Yeah, never used to hear about this particular problem during the Frank Sinatra “Pal Joey” era of SF life.

Only under the rule of enlightened socialists do you get the return of bums relieving themselves in the street.

“Or better yet, tell the Pelosi voters to quit pooping on the sidewalk.”

Easy for you to say.

Ever tried to housebreak one of those things?

Why do they need potable water to clean the street?

Lots of saltwater resistant pipe, pumps and trucks...

The taxpayers and unions love it!!!

Do not forget some stout bollards around the equipment; city drivers tend to myopic in the morning.

I do believe you should be referring to the POOP and the PEOPLE.
I was born in Frisco and even I think it should be nuked from orbit. “It’s the only way to be sure”.

A couple of years ago I had to go to SF in order to settle an estate. The lawyer was in a major building in the downtown area. There was a large pile of poop at the entrance. I mentioned this to the lawyer. His comment was: “That’s SF, it’s there every morning”.

It doesn’t surprise me one bit. I once took a software training class in San Francisco in 2008. After what can only be described as the drive from hell getting there (who knew it could take over two hours to cross a bridge?), the first thing that greeted me as I opened the door to leave the car was a used condom on the pavement. Thankfully, I saw it before I stepped on it, though it was a close call.
