Despite Erik’s trumped up importance and support from the likes of Rush (albeit an obligatory WSB station pump advert he had to do), I have never put much stock in him. Most of the ‘original’ thought I’ve heard him repeat, I already came to my own conclusions before that.
IOW, I don’t count him in my list of “must listen to’s”.
Coulter is trying to blow the dog whistle but the conservatives are no longer listening. She screwed it up in 2012 with Romney and Christie. The correct play was Cain or Gingrich, but she was more concerned about her position as the crazy aunt in the establishment rather than her commitment to conservatism.
Then again, we knew in 2002 with her nod and wink to the log cabin Republicans, but we refused to believe it.
I understand what she is trying to do, and in some respects she is correct. We need the senate and if it means voting for the incumbent and then investing resources in conservatives for Democrat seats, so be it. Problem is the last two elections where we thought we had conservatives turned out to be a sham.
Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us.
