It turns out just as the IRS was illegally targetting conservatives, so was the NSA.

The NSA illegal warrantless searches were for political, not national security reasons.

I’m shocked that the Ostapo wing of NWO would allow this.

Greenwald noted that all five Americans surveiled [sic] happened to be Muslim, and suggested that this may be a religious test for surveillance.
If the people spied on were exclusively Muslim, then I'm largely OK with this specific incident. (Remember, this is Glenn Greenwald, a man of the Left, so we need to check, double-check, and quintuple-check.) A cursory observance of international affairs shows that Muslims are not to be trusted (no exceptions).
That being said, there needs to be clear constraints on who can be surveyed and who can't. Given that Tea Party groups DO NOT have a history of violence, surveillance of them should be strictly off limits. Given that liberal, Democrat, and Muslim groups DO have histories of violence, surveillance of them should be allowed and encouraged.

Have not read the article, but I can guess who that GOP rep is.

John Bonehead Boehner.

I’m still waiting for the full list and not the dribs and drabs of selective release.

NSA warrantless surveillance has been used for political — rather than security — purposes.

This is not news. Under the Regime, all agencies are used as political weapons. What would be news would be an agency that didn't corrupt itself to become a political lackey.
