SACRAMENTO -- Californians who waste water outdoors by drenching their lawns or washing a car without a nozzle on the hose amid the state's historic drought may soon face fines of up to $500 a day.
The state Water Resources Control Board is set to meet next week to consider emergency water conservation regulations. If approved, the rules would allow law enforcement officials and water agency employees to issue fines starting Aug. 1.

They are terrible but I think some in the northeast are a little worse.
But no restrictions on the illegal pot growers who steal the water for their plantations and destroy our forests.
Tell that "brown lawn" "badge of honor" stuff to my homeowners' association. Brown lawns and/or dead landscaping around here will get you fined.
I can see it now, the Water Resources Control Board SWAT team...want to bet on when it kicks down its first door and riddles the resident scofflaws?
