Stunning: California Couple Says They Were Asked to House Immigrant Children
Rush Limbaugh Show Transcript ^ | July 8, 2014 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 07/08/2014 2:30:34 PM PDT by C19fan

RUSH: This is Ann and Ed in Southern California. Welcome. It's great to have you on the phone. Hello.

ANN: Hello.

RUSH: Hi.

ANN: Hi, Rush. How are you?

RUSH: Just fine. Thank you very much.

ANN: Great. Well, we have some interesting news. My husband Eddie is on the phone with us. We live in Southern California, and we're Catholic, active Catholics in our community, and there was a town hall meeting last evening, emergency meeting called by our local parish priest, ordered by our bishop (unintelligible) and the Archdiocese of San Bernardino. They have made the decision that they're going to absorb the immigrants that are coming through because the federal government called the bishop's office on Monday and they're gonna be busing these immigrants to our communities and asking us to open our homes and to house them for up to a month. The church will reimburse us for any out-of-pocket expenses and we were told not to talk to anybody about it, especially the media. I'm not especially happy about it. My husband is a retired doctor, and he will share his concerns with you regarding this matter. Eddie, do you want to go ahead and talk about your thoughts?

How about the obie mansion in chit-town? It’s been vacant for a while now.

I’m just wonderin’ when that is gonna happen for real. When we bought our house we weren’t looking for a place this large but the deal was one we could not pass up. Since there’s only two of us, we’re just waiting for someone to “offer” up the “south wing” to someone.

"...and we were told not to talk to anybody about it, especially the media."

Seems to be a lot of that lately.

Probably threatened their tax status if they didn’t “help” or maybe it didn’t take much coercion at all. Who knows...

“As I said during the big bank bailout.

you know, when I read what you wrote, i’ll tell you what popped into my head. if you ever watch Andrew zimmern on the travel channel, there was a very interesting scene in his trip to cuba. he’s out on the road and as he’s trying to hail a taxi he mentions that in cuba, if you have empty seats in your private auto, you are required to stop and pick up anyone who needs a ride.
not too far off from your second home example.

I see the Catholic Church as I do the DNC. Same selfish interest for money and power.

I think this says a lot about California….these two folks, both conservative, big fans of DSouzas movie….and they were pathetic little blind lambs. I guess that state just beats the common sense and testosterone out of you….

If you didn’t hear this on the radio this morning, it is important to read it now. I think this has the potential to be the final blow to America.

As I said during the big bank bailout.

If you have a 2nd home that’s unoccupied, you better get someone in it before the democrats do it for you.

I told our daughter and son-in-law that. They own a 2nd home that they rent out and while they are more conservative than middle of the road, they refuse to believe me. They think I’m nuts.

I said some day you’ll get a letter, call or a knock on the door and they’ll say you are only 2 people, you own 1 4-bedroom home and 1 2-bedroom home and you don’t need all that so we’re taking the 4-bedroom home since it’s only the 2 of you.

That’s what redistribution of wealth is all about. They think I’m crazy, but I don’t doubt that it will come to that if Obama has his way.

I dunno we had a stray dog problem till the Methodists brought in that Vietnamese family. I’m not saying there is a relationship, but that is what happened.

Cat Problem, I'm on it!

I think Minneapolis is a hotbed for Somali fighters because in the 90’s the churches there sponsored a lot of Somali “refuges”.

Now they are paying us back!

I was thinking along exactly the same line. This is the federal government "quartering" persons in private homes. A total violation of the intent of the 3rd amendment:

No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

These are foreign soldiers. They are invading our country. They are indirect agents of the U.S. federal government who is transporting them, feeding them, giving them medical services and some makeshift quarters.

That little exception..."but in a manner prescribed by law" could be a BIG problem. Can Congress prescribe a law that forces a private citizen to quarter persons without their consent?

Seems that I’ve read about that sort of thing happening in Great Britain. Moving elderly pensioners out of their homes and into apartments.
