Penguins are on the front line of climate change, as rising global temperatures melt the ice the iconic and lovable creatures call home.
Scientists who count the birds are finding that penguins are beginning to feel major impacts from the drastic changes to their habitat.
But, perhaps surprisingly, the breeding populations of three brush-tailed species of penguins inhabiting the Western Antarctic Peninsula, where the temperatures are warmest, are not all falling as the ice is quickly melting.

Every species of animal now on earth has bloodlines that go back millions if not hundreds of millions of years. In that time the climate has been much warmer and much colder. How did they manage?
Global Warming has caused all penguins to lose the ability to fly. Now they will all die off because they will not be able to build their nests in the Antartic trees any longer so reproduction will be impossible. The Antartic lion and wildebeast herds have completely disappeared.
“Lovable creatures”?
Sure they are until one starts dating your daughter. Then they sit in your chair with their feet on the coffee table. They bring her home late. They drive a souped-up Prious with no muffler. Nothing but trouble.
“LIFE” rit large, is less concerned about “climate change” than some humans presently are, as, to LIFE - in the largest sense - “climate change” does not mean the general destruction of LIFE, but changes in the losers & the winners in LIFE, in ways that change the specifics of “biodiversity” by altering its specific composition, not destroying it. While some will find a “new climate balance” more difficult, others will find opportunity more plentiful, and, if able to observe “climate change” over a very, very long term, we’d likely see “new species” “evolve” in the “changed” conditions.
If it gets warmer, not as many penguins will freeze to death.
There is no climate change. Liberals, the Luddites, want the world to think man must be destroyed because their pea sized brains can’t handle real progress.

Lemme take a crack at this:
It's probably because the local climate conditions are favorable to the Penguins, and there has actually been no significant climate change for decades.
Joe Bastardi says that right now the Arctic sea ice extent is one standard deviation below normal, but that it is forecasted to be about one standard deviation above the average at the height of the summer melt season which hasn’t been seen since 1996 because of the flip in the AMO.
Of course this along with the increase in the Antarctic sea ice extent to record levels will mean a much higher global sea ice extent.
