Rick Perry to Obama: Come to the border
Politico ^ | July 2, 2014 | KENDALL BREITMAN

Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Wednesday that President Barack Obama must visit the Texas southern border to see the immigration crisis for himself.

“If he doesn’t come to the border, I think it’s a real reflection of his lack of concern of what’s really going on there,” Perry said on FOX News’ “FOX and Friends,” noting that Obama is planning to be in Texas next week for fundraisers.

“If the President of the United States is really serious about securing that border, we can show him how to do that,” Perry added. “But I haven’t even had a phone call from this president.”

And of course, Obama is not interested.

Amid Influx of Migrants, Obama to Skip Border Visit on Texas Trip

"But despite being battered on all sides on the issue, a White House spokesman said Thursday that the president had no intention of visiting the border for a firsthand look at the scene of what he has called a humanitarian crisis. "

Very interesting that you are criticizing Perry, not Obama...

well of course this is the reaction.

Perry is a Republican. Obama only works with other good Democrats.

Remember a few years ago, when Texas had a terrible spate of wild fires? Did Obama have compassion for Texas? Obama’s reaction was to state that the governor of a state on fire denies global warming. That was Obama’s official statement on the disaster of fires in Texas. Does Obama give a blank of what happens to Texas????

Perry is wimping out. He needs to call up the National Guard and move them to the border. If he needs money..then call for it, but make the moves now. Obama will do nothing unless he is really pushed into a corner.

Obama is trying to force Perry to use state funds...never to be reimbursed by the Feds. They had the same problem in Arizona when they incarcerated illegals. The Fed was supposed to pay the state. They never did.

Obama has Homeland Security shipping these kids. What's Parry supposed to do? Block the takeoff field?

I never expected more from Obama. I have always been a Perry fan, I love that he carries a gun, he's done wonders for the TX economy, etc. but now it's all these mealy-mouth weak answers to a crisis that is destroying all his hard work.

I expected more from Perry.

Imagine the media reaction if, just after Katrina hit, Bush had gone to several political fundraisers in Louisiana but refused to go to New Orleans, saying that he didn’t need to go since his advisors already told him all he needed to know.

There are a couple of differences. First, Bush did not cause Katrina. Second, Obama’s Katrina is just starting to hit.

Where are all the pics of the Texans blocking the buses?

Or just block one of the major entry points for a solid week. Get a few thousand to set up a big block party right in front it. Ya don’t need Perry...He’s useless and in on the con-job.

There are very few republicans in leadership who are bold enough for such a confrontation. The ones who are bold enough for such a stand don’t get support from the Republican establishment when they run in elections. A couple of conservatives of such caliber have won, such as Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. The GOPe and their democrat allies are not too happy about them.

Use medicaid funds, that's where Obama is shipping all his Obamacare patients. It is a health issue.

If not, then use state funds and sue to get the money back after he stops the bleeding. Hell, ask the people of TX to donate to stop the madness. Anything's better than pleading with our muslim President to stop the carnage he instigated.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

These children have been put in tragic circumstances at the hands of human traffickers and drug gangs by the will of Barack Hussein Obama.

obama is responsible and couldn’t care less for the truly innocents and what is happening to them.

obama is racist and sociopathic to the core - these children are “its” to him.

As a country, I don’t think we know what to do about a true sociopath doing whatever he wills, at the helm. It is as if everyone is moving in slow motion, in denial. The rest of our leaders do nothing but TALK.

My representative is Debbie Wasserman Shultz. Wow, a lot of good it will be contacting her.

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion ...." Art. IV, sec. 4, U.S. Constitution.

I guess that provision in the Constitution got replaced with the provision guaranteeing free abortions.

As if that would do a damn thing....

I guess it's a step Perry needs to take, but of course it won't accomplish a damn thing except for the mulatto-marxist-muslim to blame Republicans for the whole mess. (Not that Republicans don't deserve some of the blame. Based on their long-term inaction, it's clear most GOPEs are not interested in securing the border either.)
