What transpired in the Mississippi Senate run-off is a red line for many conservatives across the country, because the Republican Party establishment essentially took a civil war and escalated it to a war for independence.
Its one thing to oppose your base in a primary. Its entirely another to despicably play the race card against your base, and bolster the legitimacy of the propaganda of our race-baiting opponents on the Left. But thats exactly what the Kamikaze pilots running the GOP did. As a result, Chris McDaniel won Republican voters handily on Tuesday, but still lost the run-off statewide thanks to a 43 percent increase among voters in counties President Obama received at least two-thirds of the vote in 2012.
In other words, the GOP establishment used Obama/Alinsky race-baiting tactics against their own base, in order to drive out to the polls in a GOP primary the same low-information-voters that put and kept this Marxist in the White House (which I document here). An unpardonable sin considering there is no reason to go scorched earth against your own base in solidly Republican state except to send a message.
That message is this: if you threaten our corporatist gravy train we will go harder after you then we ever have Democrats.
Now that the message has been sent, there will not be an Appomattox moment in this conflict, when the two sides come back together after one of them has proven his point. The end result of this conflict will either be the defeat of the occupying army (the establishment) or conservatives will Dunkirk (bolt the GOP en masse). I say this not as someone who advocates a third party, although Im asked about it frequently. My typical response to the question is Id like to see what a second party looks like first.
The only way to fight this is to make sure Cochran doesn’t win in the general.
Yeah... we lose the seat... but the seat is lost already.
I am not from Mississippi but it sounds like the Barbour machine needs to be voted out of any power they hold there.
Many of us know that and are prepared to vote for the Dim to help this blow up in the faces of all who perpetrated this betrayal on us.
Stealth over the long run.
We can't get so mad that it shows.
I'm just sorry I sat on the sidelines so long!
Win the Senate back first, then defeat the RINOs. It is a long War. Don’t lose the war because of bad decisions in the smaller skirmishes.
GOPe think we will be like a battered woman and just keep taking them back. Nope, this was a line that should never have been crossed. I’m telling everyone, those who don’t pay any attention to politics until it is time to vote, what was done and they are shocked and furious.
It is not just Cochran, it is the entire Republican establishment in Mississippi. McDaniel is the true winner of the primary by REPUBLICANS. Conservatives must demand that every party official in Mississippi publicly disown and disavow Cochran or face a revolt against the party. Even if Cochran maintains his position as the official winner of the primary every Republican party leader must back a write-in movement for McDaniel. If not, bye bye Mississippi Republican party. It is time for everyone to make a stand. Your are either for the establishment elites or for the popular base.
There are 2 seats we need to lose, Miss and Kentucky.
“That message is this: if you threaten our corporatist gravy train we will go harder after you then we ever have Democrats.”
I believe it’s much, much more than their “corporatist gravy train”. The fluidity between the ranks of the Marxists, and the “E’s” of the “GOP’e is too fluid. The Cochranites accepted the Democrat tactics as though it was their own, and ran with it. They are one.
The GOP’e has to be flushed of the stealth Marxist elements whom have taken control of the party, or the party has to be replaced if we are to win back our country.
If we win the Senate back now, we’ll never defeat the RINOs!. Do you seriously want McCain, Cochran, Ayotte, Flake, Collins, Murkowski etc etc to be the majority of anything? They’re a cancer on what used to be a party that represented our values!
Ms is a perfect opportunity to elect a conservative from a third party. You have 2 democrats running and no conservative. Get behind a 3rd party maybe the Constitution Party, maybe the LP or if the Reform Party still exists maybe it. But pick a 3rd party and elect their candidate.
It is a long war and we cannot just look toward the next election cycle. If those like Cochran are not punished then the RINO elites will be emboldened and conservatives will never win the war. What good is it if Republican party hacks control the Senate if conservatives are kept out by the Republican leadership?
Voting for a democrat is almost always a very bad idea. Find someone acceptable on the ballot (3rd party) and vote for them.
You are out of touch. Win the Senate back first? With this bunch of GOPe controlling it? Not on your life. If they get the Senate, they will work overtime to defeat all conservatives in any race using the tactics of the Cochran campaign. I say - lose the seat and pick up a few of the Dem seats up for grabs.
Ms has a sore loser law so McDaniel can not be elected. Also I not think Ms counts write in votes. If so a write in is a waste of time. The only thing that can be done (other then vote Democrat or not voting at all) is vote 3rd party! If ever a 3rd party could win it is in Ms this year. Now if that happened do you think our elected in DC would take notice? You betcha.
This is exactly correct. I read several articles yesterday explaining the situation. Mississippi needs a Gov. Palin. Perhaps McDaniel should run for gov.
RINOs like animal ‘lover’ Cochran once again pull defeat out of the jaws of victory with their treachery.
“There are 2 seats we need to lose, Miss and Kentucky.”

Amen! We need to take a “rifle shot” approach instead of a shotgun approach. And THESE are the two Senate seats where the behavior and statements of the RINO and his supporters were especially egregious. And in these two states’ Senate campaigns conservatives need to take the distasteful step of actually voting for the DemocRAT opponent instead of merely abstaining from voting for the RINO.
We have to begin the long process of surgically excising these malignant RINOs before they further damage our Republic.
And all of you apologists for the RINOs, please spare us your “lesser of two evils” arguments. The wounds where we will have cut out these cancers from the Republican Party will heal in time—to be replaced by actual conservatives down the road.
Most states have onerous laws protecting the two parties and making it difficult, if not impossible, for third parties to be recognized. Is there time to form a third party and get a spot on the ballot in November?
