Freepers Openly Supporting Liberal Democrats - Alison Lundergan Grimes
Free Republic ^ | June 26, 2014 | Salf/Vanity

Posted on 06/26/2014 10:01:59 AM PDT by ifinnegan

I never thought I would see the day when there were participants in this forum openly advocating voting for a liberal Democrat.

Yet that is what many are doing in advocating Kentuckians vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes.

This makes no sense unless one is a liberal or leftist anti-American or are unable to move beyond emotion and irrationality or a nihilist mind set that lets anger, fear, lack of faith and hatred dominate one's logical faculties.

Alison Lundergan Grimes was born in 1978. That's the year I graduated High school. Many here are older than I, and in politics, at 53 I am not all that old.

This liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, is 36 years old. She is a baby in politics.

If she wins this seat now she will be in the Senate for 40 years.

By contrast, McConnell is an old man who will be gone after this term.

Those supporting the liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, for Senate are going to simply make possible another Feinstein, or Boxer or any such left wing corrupt Marxist-thinking Senator with a Seat-For-Life.

Setting up a permanent seat in the Senate for a liberal leftist Democrat in a state where it is possible to avoid this plague, is not a good idea.

It may feel good emotionally to see the reprehensible, Mitch-I-want-to-punch-the-Tea-Party-in-the-nose McConnell lose, but the negative consequences are greater than the fleeting enjoyment of seeing McConnell lose.

This post is by a McConnell campaign staffer.

Well, that would explain the poor writing skills...

Yes but it is matter of who controls the Senate, not just one candidate.

Once again Kenny, you give no examples of what McConnell has done
to fight the RATS and Obama.

And you ignore the fact that the GOP controlled house already has
the power to defund those agencies NOW.

There is nothing emotional about the fact that the GOP has a majority
in the house NOW but refuses to use the powers they already have
to stop Obama’s policies now.

Even at $100 per entry, the Mouse is screwing Floridians less than Scott is with the in-state tuition for illegals thing

Well, there ya go! I don't see any other reason NOT to vote for the Mouse, then. =D

A vote for a Dem or a third party is a vote for Obama, Reid, and the evil they’ve brought forth imo.

It is imperative that liberal republicans do not get a majority in the Senate. McConnell supplied critical cloture votes to further Reid's agenda.

What exactly has McConnell done to fight Harry Reid, other than work
deals with him to screw the American public?

It is true the House could defund any program they desired.

OneWingedShark, Kansas58 was right, grow up.

By including vulgarity and obscenity in your post you diminish any argument you were trying to make and even make a mockery of your own tagline.

So knock it off, you're violating posting guidelines. Show Jim Robinson and your fellow freepers a little respect.

And your point is? Just means we're going to reach our eventual destination sooner, and certainly sounds better than being told by the GOPe that they are going to fight that, then getting stabbed in the back. We'll not get back to true Conservatism by "changing' the party at this point. I've been trying to do so for almost 20 years. It's fruitless. Best to scrap the whole thing and start over. I ain't saying it'll be easy, but it'll be worth it.

I’m not going to try to defend McConnell because he’s not the issue. The House can’t really do anything because it dies in the Senate.

I attended the “Kill the Bill” march in D.C. 2010 and saw that even when Democrats know the people are against them, they walk the plank for their party. They have to be stopped NOW! They’re setting us up with ISIS and there will be no going back if we don’t wake up.

The purpose of your vote is to vote for the best candidate.

Always.

You don’t get to vote against. Only for.

If the Senate refuses to do their job, shut the gov't down. If the House refuses to do their job, when it's our side in control, it's time to get rid of the problem which, in this case, IS our side.

Don’t Vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes. If you can’t vote for Mitch, I’d suggest do a write-in. Do what you as a voter can live with because you have your own voice. The Republican Party will not be changed anytime soon; unless, someone runs as an independent. Then both parties will be up the creek. The three horse race would be fun even though Rush doesn’t like that idea.

I just don’t see the corruption nor the government being out of control / reformed by the path this country is on. 1- The corrupt media 2- The national parties controlling the system. And, with the GOp-e doing what they did in MISS;, more respectable voters, who are descent citizens, will be motivated in not voting. They are on death watch as they allow Obama to break the law along with their amnesty ideas. Who can support that? Most of us can see there’s no difference in both parties and the liberals Love that! Liberalism has brought us to where we are Now!

the Republican party needs to be broken before we end up with a viable opposition party

Not much... of course, when you’re in the minority against a hard-nosed demagogue like Reid, what avenues are available?

Not defending McConnell... but this upcoming election was at one time a rare chance to kick Reid’s ass to the back bench.

Grow up, swallow your pride, and realize that the purpose of your vote is ALWAYS to defeat the worst candidate.

Interesting meme. Please explain how Grimes is a worse candidate than McConnell.

People around here have been drinking from the moron fountain.
I guess they want to see Harry Reid running the Senate for the next 2 years, moving forward all the judges Obama nominates.
But they can beat their chests about what pure conservatives they are.
Meanwhile the Democrats will have real power.

Liberal republicans must be politically destroyed, and denied a Senate majority.

No worries. A Senate majority is not happening.
