If we have laws which are NOT enforced... then LEGAL immigration is no different from ILLEGAL immigration so people just break the law and don't care.
All respect for the law is gone. I blame the federal government which has failed to assure that the respect for our laws will be upheld and they have failed to make it VERY clear to all who want to break our laws.
Or, you tell their parents by abandoning them they have lost their parental rights and their will be no citizenship or even entry to the US for their parents or relatives. Children will be equally divided between registered democratic voters.....
What this country really needs is some good old common sense deportation.

American Patriot Grassley tried to protect Americans w/ his amendment to the Senate amnesty bill: "Congress should not thumb its nose at the millions of Americans who are victims of identity theft, often perpetrated by an undocumented person who steals Social Security numbers to get jobs, govt benefits, driver's licenses and more.
"This amendment would simply require the person applying for RPI status to disclose any previously used Social Security numbers," said Grassley. "It's the first step to helping clean up the mess that's been created for the victim of identity theft. The amendment also authorizes certain federal agencies, upon receipt of this information, to notify individuals who were the victims."

Lerner "accidentally" receiving....and opening ....US mail addressed to Sen Grassley is a federal offense----in legal terms: tampering with US mail. Mail tampering refers to the willful theft, destruction or opening of the mail of another person without their consent.
The moral equivalent of the Watergate break-in.

The US is not adopting these kids, we are abducting them.
It is no different than a pervert luring a child into his car with a candy bar.
What is to prevent the parents of these children from suing the US for abduction of their child by the lure dangled before them??
There should be a presumption that sending a child unaccompanied across the border renders the parents unfit, and parental rights should be terminated for all of the parents who did so.
If they were hoping to bootstrap themselves across the border by sending the child first, terminating their rights would keep this from happening.
We can then let them petition to re-establish their parental rights, but it would conditional on the entire family returning to their country of origin.
The children who remain can either be placed with American families, when possible, or raised in a group home setting. A lot of them are 14-15 years old, so we are only talking about a few of years before they are emancipated, anyway.
It will be a heck of a lot easier to care for reletively few children than to wind up with the entire family of illegal immigrants on the dole.
