Ted Cruz: 'I Certainly Congratulate' Thad Cochran
Breitbart ^ | June 25, 2014 | Charlie Spiering

Chris McDaniel may have refused to concede the Mississippi Senate primary without a challenge, but Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) appears to be moving on after the Tea Party suffered primary defeats last night.

“I certainly congratulate my colleague, Thad,” Cruz said on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning, pointing out that the Republican establishment poured millions into the Mississippi race and only won by a thin margin. Cruz reminded the hosts that he did not endorse a candidate in the Mississippi primary, as he promised to stay out of incumbent Senate races.

But Cruz insisted that Cochran’s narrow victory should be a warning for Republicans in Washington, D.C. “I think that demonstrates that there is a lot of hunger for change. People are frustrated with Washington, and they're hungry for leaders who will stand up and make the case we need to go a different path,” Cruz said.

Looking like it may be challenged ....

http://www.examiner.com/article/report-chris-mcdaniel-to-challenge-mississippi-election-results

Excellent statements in article at link. Here’s one...

“There is nothing dangerous or extreme about defending the Constitution or the civil liberties therein,” he added. “There is nothing strange at all about standing as people of faith for a country that we built, that we believe in. But there is something a bit strange, there is something a bit unusual, about a Republican primary that’s decided by liberal Democrats.”

What is different? Reagan didn’t paint Ford or any of his opponents as just recently returned from a KKK meeting the way they did to Chris McDaniels.

If I might add, what cochran & the GOPe did was to feed the lie that being conservative means you're a racist. While insulting and lying about us they then expect us to vote for them in the general election because the Rats are so bad.

I crossed my Rubicon awhile ago. I welcome any that crossing their Rubicon now.

I will never vote for the "lesser of two evils" again.

I would like to see Cruz:

Senator

President

Chief Justice

I think the GOPe hates Cruz because in their hearts they know he's right. :)

I wish we could clone him.

And you want Cruz to mention this rumour on FOx and Friends?

From what position, righteous dope junior senator from another state?

Mark Levin asks people who criticize, ‘what are You doing?’

McDaniel hasn’t conceded yet, is challenging the vote, and Cruz is congratulating Cochran.

What’s wrong with this picture?

“Ted Cruz Is Calling Time-Out on His Role at NRSC—For Now The way Cruz sees it, there’s just no way he can, in good conscience, get involved in Senate Republican primaries. To get involved is to side with incumbents, and to side with incumbents is to back Washington’s elite. It could anoint electable candidates, but not always the most conservative ones.”

Ted Cruz is one of the few bright lights in the Senate. If he's not perfect I'll cut him some slack.

Can you honestly believe that with what is going on in the GOP now that this is ever going to happen? You are delusional!

I agree. We might have had an acceptable candidate in McDaniel but the NRSC helped defeat him.

Precisely! The GOP fights the Dems with zero emotion (ie zero principles)and fights their tea party base with all emotions, (ie charges of racism, radicalism, bigotry etc).

The longer that Conservatives resist the reality that is the Republican Party, the longer Conservatives will remain out of power.

Is is a sad fact, but, imo, we must face it...the GOP no longer represents you, no matter what they claim. MY brain tells me that the GOP spends millions to defeat their base, they trash them to the press to delegitimize them, they ask black voters to vote for the GOP for bigger government?! How is it logical to vote for the GOP?

Liberals own both parties. Both were infiltrated and systematically turned socialist while the culture itself was being corrupted.

I see no way to reclaim it peacefully except by controlling an important media source. Liberals have those locked up, too, it would seem.

It's not only Ted bashers that are upsetting; it's anyone that exploits the slightest triviality they find (which Ted's congratulation of Cochran is) and blow it totally out of proportion, and then want everyone else just to give up.

We MUST control the Senate.

Why?

What will a GOPe dominated Senate majority do?

Reagan didn’t use the slimy throwing the race card on your alleged own to get black votes. What the liberal gope did in MS was reprehensible. They are pure loathsome scum of humanity.

My current ‘sinator’ is Cochran. I won’t be voting for him in Nov however.

God Bless you.

I'm in a state where my vote is worthless so my not voting for liberals doesn't mean anything. All I can do is give contributions to conservatives.

Sheila Jackson Lee

Go to your room!...without supper!!

Sadly, she really does represent her constituents in every sense of the word.

Julian Castro is a name you hear rarely around here...to the point of being scary.

BTW, my SE TX county was Democrat until the year Bush beat Ann Richards. We are by reputation the racist capitol of the world. My state rep is a conservative Republican...a black guy named White...elected by whites.

LBJ? What does basketball have to do with it? :)

How stupid can the black voters be to think that one elected Senator is going to take away their right to vote? Stupid, stupid, stupid - but then again - they continue to vote 95% for Dems - so I rest my case.

I agree, but then as you said, we’re talking about a majority that overwhelmingly votes Dem.

It was a nasty flier and Cochran should be ashamed of himself, but of course, he’s not.

Amen!

Also, he has exposed them for who they are on more than one occasion. I can't vote for him yet, but I do contribute to him.
