Ted Cruz: 'I Certainly Congratulate' Thad Cochran
Breitbart ^ | June 25, 2014 | Charlie Spiering

Chris McDaniel may have refused to concede the Mississippi Senate primary without a challenge, but Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) appears to be moving on after the Tea Party suffered primary defeats last night.

“I certainly congratulate my colleague, Thad,” Cruz said on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning, pointing out that the Republican establishment poured millions into the Mississippi race and only won by a thin margin. Cruz reminded the hosts that he did not endorse a candidate in the Mississippi primary, as he promised to stay out of incumbent Senate races.

But Cruz insisted that Cochran’s narrow victory should be a warning for Republicans in Washington, D.C. “I think that demonstrates that there is a lot of hunger for change. People are frustrated with Washington, and they're hungry for leaders who will stand up and make the case we need to go a different path,” Cruz said.

Six years ago I was county re-elect chair for Cornyn ...until I quit mid-campaign.

I was very involved with the Cruz campaign.

The congratulations is disturbing.

Cruz has always been 100% smart about what he says and does.

I sense he may have fear of the establishment and the MSM. I hope I am wrong. But will wait until he clarifies his congratulatory remarks to Cochran.

Recently, the GOPe said they were going to target Mike Lee in 2016 for knocking out in the Utah primary. Does Cruz likewise feel vulnerable?

It is NOT even logical to consider not doing everything in our power to take the Senate this year. I refuse to let my emotions conquer my brain.

(My re-usable Tea-party signs are in my garage to maintain their good shape.)

And, why must we control the Senate? We had both houses under the first 4 years or so of GWB’s term and they did nothing but expand big government, just like the Dems - they didn’t cut any of the alphabet organizations that should have been shut down either - so, I’m jaded right now that the Rs will do anything different than the Ds have done. They’re all the same - UNIPARTY is a good term!

If you put that much importance on "congratulations" you probably stay disappointed.

Al Franken! LOLOLOLOLOL!

Even Cornyn is better than Franken!

I had another thought. Does Mississippi allow write-ins?

Yes.

Yes we do.

There’s already a ‘Mur’cow’ski’ sentiment being expressed this morning.

If they can disenfranchise the conservative with that technique, we can certainly make sure the liberal rino gets his just rewards using the same thing.

We MUST control the Senate.

Who are “we”? If you mean conservatives, Cochran, McCain, McConnell, Graham, Inhofe, Lankford, Blunt, Moran, Roberts, Murkowski, Cornyn, Snow, Ayotte, et el, are not “we”

Good for you. I’d love to see Cruz run for President. I’d also like to see him condemn the practice of schlepping Democrat votes to decide Republican primaries. I hope you would too.

Sorry, fi Cruz doesn’t fix everyone’s wagon by the time the election goes into swing, he’s going to get bashed by the right, along with the left who’ll bash him for daring to get in as a conservative, and along with the GOPe, whose supervisors over at the Chamber of Commerce will not be pleased with him for not being a player.

He’ll wake up to bloody horseheads in his rom, fish in the mailbox, and dead rabbits on his doorstep. His kids will be living in some undisclosed location, his wife will have to cut her ties with any organization she’s ever been associated with, He’ll be denying photo-shopped images of soirees with cheap, and expensive women. And that’s just from the republicans.

He’ll (they’ll-meaning his family) will be doing it for those who bash bash bash bash bash every polite, nuanced word he says, just for not adorning a tin star and going in with a smoking cigar and a six shooter demanding justice, and cursing.

I think most people are far more awake now than under Bush...and the threats to our country are FAR more obvious. It will make things much worse for Obama if he refuses to sign legislation that offers real solutions for our problems.

For impeachment purposes alone (think trial), we need the Senate.

My grandmother’s Cochran family came to TX from MS 100 plus years ago... and I hope I’m not distantly related to TC! LOL!

Years ago, I congratulated my ex on his remarriage. Did I mean it? Heck no, but I was taking the high road - just as I suspect Ted is doing. Good grief - the people on this forum would never make it in politics - they seem to think you have to shoot off your mouth over everything. Sometimes, you just have to choose your battles.

AARGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Please Ted, look what the Gope did in Mississippi-they had democrats vote/choose the republican candidate.

Cochran would have lost by 8 points, if democrats were not voting in the run off. And look at all the dirty rotten tricks they (Gope) used.

IMO-McDaniel should absolutely run as a write-in candidate because of the bullsh*t that went on with the Gope. (Democrats should NOT be choosing candidates for both parties. I bet McDaniel can win a write-in campaign.)

I'm sure he (Cruz), was being polite in congratulating Cochran-but what happened in Mississippi at the hands of the Gope was disgusting.

But if you want to play that game, Sheila Jackson Lee, Julian Castro, Henry Cisneros, and LBJ are all yours.

Franken stole that election and everyone knows it. We are trying to fix that.

Bull crap - these weenies will never impeach obama - it isn’t going to happen. You live in a fantasy world and it would take about 2 years to do it anyway - he only has a little over 2 years left in office anyway. Even though Clinton was impeached - he was never removed from office - and don’t think zero will be either - it just isn’t going to happen.
