The IRS Had a Contract With an Email Backup Company

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) said it can't provide emails sent between 2009 and 2011 that were requested by congressional investigators because of hard drive crashes.

The agency said that emails stored on dead drives were lost forever because its email backup tapes were recycled every six months, and employees were responsible for keeping their own long-term archives.

The IRS had a contract with email backup service vendor Sonasoft starting in 2005, according to FedSpending.org, which lists the contract as being for "automatic data processing services." Sonasoft's motto is "email archiving done right," and the company lists the IRS as a customer.

In 2009, Sonasoft even sent out a Tweet advertising its work for the IRS...

The biggest and deadliest backroom/under-the-table deals come out of the White House. The House can’t make a counter offer that competes. The senate thou with Reid in charge is still a player in the govt mafia control.

I work in the Financial Services industry, information technology, for a global bank.

If we were to receive a subpoena demanding emails and had the above for an excuse there is NO DOUBT someone from our bank would be held in contempt of court and probably sitting in jail.

Why isn't someone from the IRS (Lois Lerner) being held in contempt of court and sitting in jail?

Where are the FBI Raids on the company who had the contract to backup and protect IRS emails> Why isn't their equipment seized and turned over to FBI forensics experts who specialize in computer information/information recovery?

If it were me sitting in the House of Representatives, I'd be on the floor every day fillibustering asking these questions over, and over, and over again until the American people woke up!!!

So far, there is no court involved of which I am aware.

The House of Representatives has the power to cite Lois Lerner and any other high-level IRS official along with executives of the company contracted to backup emails in contempt of court and issue arrest warrants.

I won't ask why that's not happening because we both know why: John "No Testicular Fortitude" Boehner.

Quick, someone subpoena these people before they suffer a big disk crash and or a bad case of corporate amnesia. JR

Or worse. They could have unfortunate accidents at that company.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Sonasoft Corporation, for the purchase of the software licenses related to Exchange Disaster Recovery capabilities.

The software initiates the real time replication of mail box changes and commences the backup of mailboxes via existing IRS servers. In addition, the software package includes the ability to rapidly switch to a disaster recovery site from a remote location. The software platform allows the OCC to recover customer e-mail in the event of a catastrophic Exchange server failure. Sonasoft Corporation has customized their commercial off the shelf software to operate within the OCC. Sonasoft is the sole proprietor of the software and software maintenance. Vendors who can provide the required services at prices, terms and conditions equal to or better than those which can be provided by Sonasoft Corporation, should submit clear and convincing data in writing substantiating an ability to furnish the entire requirement.

Individuals had very small mailboxes on the server. Meaning they could only keep a few emails before not being able to send or receive new email.

Regular administrative types would have whined loudly, all day, every day, until the policy was changed.

More powerful administrative types like Lois Lerner would have had the bloody heads of several IT types on spikes in her office.

I'm not buying it.

Why was Lois Lerner meeting with the DOJ if she has not even been indicted?

Simple solution...offer a cash reward of $1 million tax free for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Barack Hussein Obama.

IRS Official Takes the Fifth Over IBM Contract

http://www.chrissstreetandcompany.com/irs-official-takes-ibm-contract.html

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) scandal heated up today when Greg Roseman, Washington D.C. Metro Area Contracting Officer and Deputy Director of the IRS, invoked his constitutional Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination to avoid answering questions in front of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to determine if he fraudulently steered $500 million in IRS computer contracts to a $250,000 a year company fronting for IBM.

Senior executives in the federal government, such as Lois Lerner & co-horts, have their computers upgraded/replaced VERY frequently-—much more frequently than ordinary IRS employees. When their computers are replaced, their files are copied from their “old” computers to their new computers. The computers of senior executives RARELY are used or aged enough to “crash”. So the odds of her and/or her co-conspiritors’ computer(s) crashing are astronomical.

Depends. In the business world they usually archive emails so individual users can’t destroy evidence.

Lois Lerner worked at the Federal Election Commission (FEC) prior to the IRS - which is probably where the seeds of corruption began. Would be a good idea to request her emails from the FEC to check for pre-planning.
