Yeah, he propped up a loser to keep a conservative from getting the nomination.

Trust no one on this subject. Amnesty is one issue nearly everyone seems to have his price.

The last time I went to Las Vegas (Oh, about ten years ago)(and I used to love that place) Las Vegas Blvd. was lined, shoulder to shoulder in many places, with thousands of obvious illegal aliens, Adults and children accosting tourists, shoving flyers for prostitutes, strip clubs etc. into their hands, and a few even tried to stick them in my pockets.

And that is why it was my last trip there.

Sheldon, you may get cheap maids and bus-boys out of the deal, but they ain't the ones who are going to be spending thousands patronizing your hotels, restaurants and casinos.

Yep, And Rupert Murdoch, another elitist who will never suffer the consequences of his greedy open borders / amnesty desires is conspiring with Valerie Jarrett to use his media empire to lead public opinion towards self immolation.

Conspiring with a Communist (Jarret) for any reason, on any issue, is wrong and should be condemned from every corner. But Progressives think Communism is ‘trendy’...

“Adelson needs more Mexican slaves to work in his casinos.”

And child prostitutes, too.

May they spread scabies and lice and STDs all over his establishments.

My God! Politicians are whores, but now, they’re pimps, TOO!

"I’m ALL FOR Reform on Immigration as long as the reform is rolling back the 1965 immigration act and to actually enforce immigration laws...."

That's Right, deal with all illegals under the current law to the letter of the law, if after that has been done, it will probably be found no need for reform, unless it is to stiffen penalties for illegal entry.

That would be a start, indeed!

Actually enforcing the current laws would be a "reform", the way things are now...so we have to be careful not to stereotype the whole topic of immigration reform into meaning the worst of the Obama policies, including amnesty, etc....

It also occurs to me that you could make an analogy between federal firearms registrations and restrictions, and illegal immigrant registrations and restrictions...maybe far-fetched to some, but I agree that we can't really expect to find a practical way to deport 11 million (?) current illegals, and knowing who they are and where they live might make some voluntarily deport, and provide cause to deport others. It's all about the information...and THEY are illegal, so no concerns about that.

Close the borders to new illegals, including all these children who can be humanely "shepherded" back to their homelands, or elsewhere they might be more welcomed. Reform. Overturn the DACA rule in Congress, or reform it so it's not automatically universal. I wouldn't object to some illegals being allowed to stay, for purely practical reasons (CAN we realistically deport 11 million people?!) BUT their status would have to remain illegal, even if not subject to deportation, this could not apply to ALL illegals, and any privileges of citizenship beyond not being deported would have to be earned the same way as legal immigrants do...get in line. That would be a reform.

What's "broken" about our immigration system right now is just that the laws are not being enforced, we're allowing the borders to be seriously breached by illegals, and the lottery system and "rules" regulating how many persons can legally apply to immigrate from any given other country are cockamamie and arcane.

So, I'm in favor of THAT "immigration reform", LOL! Each part in it's proper order, should take care of the problem. Of course, no one in their right mind would be in favor of "comprehensive immigration reform" that we would "have to pass so we know what's in it...don't mix that up with real and needed reforms and changes, though!

Yep! Or these completely idiotic, lame “immigration reform” arguments could even be stated this way: “If millions of illegal aliens are breaking the law, then we ought to legalize breaking the law...”.

Unless and until chain migration is eliminated, don’t even talk about success. That an enforced borders.

“I wouldn’t read the epitaph of immigration reform by this race. Keep in mind roughly 60,000 people voted in this primary and that’s not representative of the state or of the country.”

So why was Amnesty such a big deal in that one district then? As far as I know, they ARE NOT being flooded with Illegals up there, as we are here in the Southwest.

So, in a way, I agree with Cornyn - Amnesty is EVEN MORE of an issue in other parts of the country.

“As a number, 65,000 is more than an adequate sample of the electorate.”

Good point. How may “scientific polls” of people on an issue include 65,000 people. And, as I posted above, IF ANYTHING, Amnesty should not be a big issue in that district, because they are not as flooded with illegals - BUT IT WAS.
