I wonder if the hard drive will show evidence of being wiped.
Issa has been IMPOTENT in this SCANDAL investigation!! IMPOTENT!
They will soon learn that all the hard drives have been destroyed and buried in an undisclosed landfill. Standard procedure for the IRS, of course! /sarc
Why doesn’t he force her to offer up all her email addresses. All of them.
"The" hard drive. Singular.
I know that Issa asked for backups too, but too much of the reporting on this subject pretends that this is about one hard drive on one computer. That is the left's preferred narrative, and it's not true. There will be at least multiple copies of the emails on RAID arrays.
Let Issa call Symantec's Chief Technology Officer to testify on the likelihood that the IRS's Symantec Netbackup software lost Lerner's emails because a single hard drive went down.
Come on Darrell,
Obammy and company are playing you for a punk.
Every email that I send or receive on my government computer is archived somewhere, not on my computer. I have a hard time believing that all of those emails were lost... I’m pretty sure the systems are redundant.
Wrong move. The drive is not the problem. Emails are not contained ONLY on one specific drive. Wrong approach.
We are dealing with criminals here. They have the full power of the government, irs, fbi, ‘justice’ department behind them.
The hard drive was found alone in Ft. Marcy Park, nothing suspicious though.
Who cares about the supposed damaged hard drive on her PC, what about the email servers at the IRS? Are we to believe 2 years worth of data was magically destroyed for her email account and no one else?
Draaaaaaaaaaaag it out Daryl I$$A. CONgre$$. We are paying them why?
When Issa issue’s a subpoena it is useless, since they don’t have to respond to it for several months, or however long it takes for them to lose the hard drive.
More grandstanding moronic gestures. Really not impressed!
“Asked?” “Asked?” How about DEMAND! And not just “a” hard-drive, how about back-ups and such...
They should consult some computer experts and request all the computer maintenance records — every organization, including I am sure the IRS, backs up their data, there are backups to the backups.
“It looks like the American people were lied to and the IRS tried to cover up the fact it conveniently lost key documents in this investigation,” Camp and Boustany said in a statement. “The White House promised full cooperation, the commissioner promised full access to Lois Lerner emails and now the agency claims it cannot produce those materials and they’ve known for months they couldn’t do this.”
In addition, the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which represents 41 organizations who are suing the government in federal court, sent letters to federal agencies and Democratic senators asking them to preserve documents relating to the case.
“The Obama administrations IRS continues to spin an unbelievable tale that is simply absurd, said Jay Sekulow, the center’s chief counsel. “The disappearing emails will not prevent us from pursuing the evidence that we know exists evidence that shows a well-orchestrated effort to unlawfully target groups because of their political beliefs.”
Besides the IRS and Justice, the center sent letters to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Election Commission, and the White House. It also sent correspondence to several Democrats who have been mentioned in IRS correspondence.
They include Sens. Michael Bennet of Colorado, Dick Durbin of Illinois, Al Franken of Minnesota, and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire The group also has targeted Reps. Jim McGovern of Massachusetts, Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, and Peter Welch of Vermont.
“It is troubling to see a brazen, out-of-control IRS utilizing increasingly unbelievable stonewalling tactics to cover-up the truth from the American people,” Sekulow said. “We will not permit that to occur.”
