Now glen, don’t go and ruin an open opportunity to bash not only CA, but to smear CA FReepers as well...

I suspect that was the intent of posting this article anyway...CA is responsible for not only all of the USA’s problems, but the world’s as well...

All liberals are spawned here and then we ship them off to all parts of the USA and the world to “californicate” them...yes, it’s an “evil conspiracy” and now we’re just pretend conservatives to boot.

I lived on George AFB, during the Carter/Brown yeats.
I left SoCal in 1985. I came back for a visit in 1999.
Icame, I saw, I split! Even though born 6 blocks from the
Queen Mary, there aint no good reason to keep
the entire state in mind.

Now, as to CT, Sen. Lieberman was an upper classman
of my high school years. Other than that, there aint
nothing there, but school fires, bombings, gang fights,
zip gun fights, girlfriend getting raped and killed in school
stairwell, race riots, and lettering in cross country.

Like most democrats in the USA, it appears to be that liberals in Canada will always vote their party regardless of what the situation is and what is going on re the economy.

In watching the last presidential election, I pretty much became convinced that the same tipping point had been exceeded that I’ve described for Ontario and that was all the explanation that was required to explain the outcome. Due to nothing but the sheer numbers of those with a vested interest (who will never vote in any way other than to support their personal stake in the outcome), the election became a foregone conclusion. Democrats don’t have to go after potential Republican and Independent voters… they just have to make sure all those at the trough show up. And if the Republicans ever want to put someone in the White House again, this issue has to be successfully addressed. Good luck.

To Californians thinking of moving to Arizona: Don’t. It’s awful here. You wouldn’t like it.

When a quarter of your state population are squatters from mexico, and you have a socialist-progressive government of flaming crazies, who tax the bejeezes out of anyone they can fleece, and give it to said squatters, why would anyone even want to set foot in california?

This craziness also applies to quite a few other states as well. All the more reason to break up the union. Let the socialist-fascist types join the federal government, and the rest can form their own nation, and do something more useful with that constitution that Washington DC has discarded.

In terms of real estate, that map overstates Democrat dominance. For example, without the cities of San Bernardino or Riverside, that big blue blob at the bottom would be orange.

We’re you born in Arizona or are you a transplant from somewhere else.

My’ mom’s family has lived in Arizona for over 100 years and when I was a kid Arizona had less than 1 million people. Now it is over 5 Million.

Lots of transplants.

That last little bit of Orange on the Coast is where I live.

Obama came by here yesterday and contaminated it.

yes, but nearly every year, the Dems try to rescind Prop 13. I figure it will eventually happen. And, when we sold, our house had increased in value by 33%. Now the property taxes are much higher.

True, and the two blue counties surrounded by orange in eastern California (Alpine and Mono), would be orange too if it wasn't for the wealthy Libs from southern California that moved to Mammoth Lakes ski area in Mono County in the last two decades and the Hippies from the Bay area that moved to tiny Alpine County (population around 300) to get away from urban areas. Except for the ski area town of Mammoth Lakes, Mono County is very Conservative.

Aiken is beautiful

“You don’t even have to leave the state, just move out of urban areas, that is where all the liberals are, packed in like rats in a corn crib!”

Yeah, but all those city votes control the state.

Just ask any upstater in New York

Good points all! As a 40-year resident (including for a while in the SF and LA areas) -- I do plenty of California bashing, believe me! (If not for my representative, Tom McClintock (R-CA), I would have a much rougher time of it for sure!)

As a transplant from Baltimore and, later, Detroit -- this is why, for all of its problems, California looks a little better to me than it probably really is ...

I knew about the imports and transients, but I didn’t know to what degree that had translated into resident retirees, their serfs, and dependents over the last decade or so. So I left that one alone. In terms of land area, it isn’t as obviously discrete a distinction as in San Berdoo or Riverside.

Mt Shasta is very liberal. It is an Agenda 21 transitional community. It is like Ashland OR south.

They pretty much succeeded in Californicating western Oregon and western Washington.

Not east of the mountains except for a few neighborhoods, basically.

Politics aside, take CT over CA if you wish. But understand that
California has conservative dominated regions larger than the
whole state of CT, at least in terms of geography. Further, the
foothills of the Sierra Nevada range enjoy the 4 seasons no less
than CT.

We are glad someone has decided to NOT move to San Diego. We’ll be full soon.

Oh and close that tunnel after you crawl out, thanx.

I can stand Ashland every few years for 3-4 days. The Shakespeare Festival is world class.

I’ve been in Arizona since 1981 so that makes me a native. I moved here from California, where I was born.

***********************************************************

I’m telling you, people, you won’t like it here. Go to Texas or Idaho.
