By all means, let’s hope for the Senate to remain in Democratic hands.

It’s this kind of moronic thinking that’s lost us the Senate the last two elections.

Besides, it’s a bogus poll: 16% more Dems than Republicans in Kentucky. Nonsense.

No, I won’t vote FOR a Socialist/Communist/MarxoFascist (aka: Democrat).

I will only vote FOR a Staunch Conservative who is not part of the Ruling Class.

If that means the GOP candidate loses - so be it. So much the better.

Obviously you do not live in this state.

KY is Yellow Dog Democrat through and through. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by a LARGE margin.

The governor is Democrat. Most local offices even in the ‘reddest’ of counties are all DEMOCRAT office holders. Republicans do not even bother to RUN candidates in districts and counties around me - yet every one of them voted for the Republican Prez candidate in the last several election cycles.

then you’re by default endorsing liberal democrats. instead of looking at the candidates as individuals, you’re refusing to support one because they made you mad.

does grimes’ support of late term abortion make you less mad than mitch’s behavior? afaik, he doesn’t support infanticide.

House?

This happens so much on Free Republic. You would think that by now everyone would be aware that there are two houses of Congress, and in the instance of high-profile races the FR commenter would know which Congressional seat is at issue, but, no, they're still out there, unaware.

Abortion is an abomination of desolation far greater than any war or financial crisis. Who has had more power to stop it than McConnell has? He should have fought it as the spiritual and existential threat that it is, bearing any burden or paying any price. And yet he has done NOTHING but exploit it for votes. How could he care any less?

Well, he voted against Obamacare that demands infanticide.

His opponent, if allowed to seize power, will use all available means to increase the number of dead babies.

So, look, I know folks will always find an excuse to do what they want to do. The bottom line is a choice between two imperfect people.

I will continue to work to destroy all liberal republicans either in the primary or in the general. The days of getting conservatives to hold their nose and vote for the liberal republican are over.

If you vote for a liberal republican, you are a liberal.

No, I'm trying to destroy liberal republicans. It's not a matter of being mad. Its a matter of liberal republicans don't govern conservatively.

Liberals are the enemy. Especially liberal republicans.

It's that 'lesser evil' crap that got us into the mess we're in.

Neither will electing Alison Grimes, AND she’ll actively promote abortion.

A vote for abortion is a vote against God

Are you seriously wanting to turn a House seat over to the Democrats, just because your guy didn’t get the nomination?

McConnell is a Senator, not a member of the House.

What's the difference between McConnell and a Democrat anyway? If it walks like a Democrat, talks like a Democrat and acts like a Democrat --- it's a DEMOCRAT, no matter what party affiliation McConnell claims to be.

Get me a path to 51 without Kentucky.

Take the map at the following link and remove Kentucky.
http://www.electionprojection.com/2014-elections/2014-senate-elections.php

That was easy.

Please note that this map projects Alaska, Colorado, and Michigan as weak Dem holds. There are many paths to a majority without KY.

And also put South Carolina in the Dem column with Lindsay Graham by your same definition.... Then fight within the caucus to make sure he does not ascend to Majority Leader.

McConnell is different from Graham precisely because he is party leader. As I am not a Senator, I am not in a good position to fight within caucus. I don’t think the caucus has the collective spine to fight inertia—and other than McConnell dying or suffering a stroke, the only way out is to not give the caucus the option.

The fastest way to end or reduce abortions is to completely destroy the liberal politicians that enable abortion. That specifically includes liberal republicans.

The best way to continue abortions is to compromise with evil and allow those that support evil to continue in office. That includes liberal republicans.

A write-in candidate that is pro-life can be voted for.

McConnell needs to lose in November.

I do not argue over conservative write-ins. That is not a vote for Grimes. It’s those who talk of actually voting for her instead of McConnell that are talking crazy.

That said, answer me this:

Why did Harry Reid resort to the nuclear option?

To keep from embarrassing the liberal republican leadership who were forced to provide critical cloture votes for his agenda.

John Cornyn was very upset that he had to personally provide a cloture vote so Harry could get the removal of the debt limit through the Senate.

Personally, I think Harry Reid couldn’t care less about Cornyn’s embarrassment.
