How many children are killed in this country by abortion Dave?

And to think I used to think this shmuck was funny and cool in college.

Oh, those were the days. Oh to be so blissfully unaware again. Can’t out that genie back in the bottle though.

California and Connecticut have some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

Letterman needs to stick to screwing his interns.

The American Revolution began when the British tried to disarm the colonists.

David Letterman Rails Against Guns: 'You Can't Tell Me This Is an Insoluble Problem'

Sorry but it is, assuming he views gun ownership as the problem. The Second Amendment isn't going away.

I’ll bet that Letterman lives in a mansion with armed guards.

Sure, it is not an insoluble problem. You just have to ask the right question.
WHO is committing these murders with firearms?
Well, in well over half the cases, it is blacks and “Hispanics” committing these murders. They commit crimes at a rate far higher than whites or Asians. If the Black and Hispanic populations were removed from the statistics, along with the crimes they commit, the USA would look like one of the more peaceful countries in Europe.
But that really isn’t the answer Letterman wanted, is it?

I want to accord David Letterman certain courtesies and concede the genuineness of his heart as a nice Jewish liberal who was brought up to believe that the application of goodwill and intelligence through government can somehow solve the problems of human nature. I listened closely to what must be described as his ramblings and I heard him say respecting guns that he does not want to "eliminate them but to improve…" or words substantially to that effect.

The problem for Mr. Letterman is that this is an all or nothing problem. He must trash the Second Amendment and eliminate the liberty of people to defend themselves if he is to have his way. That is because the half measures which Letterman conceives of serve only to render the honest citizen more vulnerable to criminal predators who would use guns. In effect, every restriction imposed by people who think like Letterman only make the problem worse.

David Letterman wants to do something about children being murdered and so do we all but he has already done something, no doubt, about the problem of David Letterman being murdered. He is a man undoubtedly worth tens of millions of dollars and it is inconceivable that when he leaves the CBS studios at night to move about New York City he does so without protection of armed bodyguards. Every celebrity of his stature and financial wherewithal do so. They have no trouble getting permits to carry arms both for themselves and for their bodyguards. Sean Hannity, for example, has stated that he carries.

So from his safe cocoon David Letterman wants half measures perhaps without consciously realizing that he will not be affected by the very policies which he espouses. He will remain safe and protected by guns while the night nurse returning from duty in the hospital in the wee hours alone on the subway must travel unprotected and unarmed through the Bronx. She is more vulnerable to crime because liberals have weakened the criminal justice system, have through their policies made it known to the criminals that the likelihood that they will be apprehended is not great, if apprehended the likelihood that they will be convicted of the real crime is not great, if sentenced to a lesser crime the likelihood is they will not serve an extended sentence. These conditions have been brought about by well-intentioned liberals aggravating the problem of violence which so distresses David Letterman

Is it too much to ask well-intentioned liberals to accept the same risks they would impose on others?

“You can’t tell me this is an insoluble problem.”

It’s not a problem, it’s the price of freedom.

Work on the citizens, not the inanimate objects.

" Letterman said. “I think daily in this country a child or an underage boy or girl is shot and killed by a gun."

Dave, do you know where that happens most? Here's just two hints: Chicago and Detroit. But then maybe I should point out Philadelphia, St. Louis, Los Angeles, DC, and every other major city with their illegal alien and home grown gang members. There are more murders that occur in your socialist utopian cities every couple of months than has occurred with all the crazies in the last years.

Here's a solution for you, let every law-abiding citizen carry where ever and whenever they want. It's called deterrent. Those States, counties, and cities that allow open carry and/or concealed have the least gun related murders. Can you figure out why? Didn't think so.

Sorry, but we're a gun culture and with all the gangs and crazies out there, would you give up your bodyguard who is most likely carrying? Thought not. FUDL.

David, is your armed security person ARMED with a squirt gun? Of course, you are a hypocritical liberal, so I guess the answer is...’No, I need my security people ARMED.’

Dave is right. The solution is simple - allow open carry everywhere. Crime goes down - across the board - everywhere it is tried.

The issue, Dave, is that liberals don’t like the solution.

That says a lot right there.

Kids die. It’s an insoluble problem. They get shot, stabbed, drown, strangled, run over by cars, killed in crashes, disease etc. The biggest cause of child death is abortion. Don’t even try to compare the numbers to gun deaths. Go after that number first and then we will move to the second leading cause of death.(Which ain’t guns)

We remember the bit you did in the golf cart where you pretended to shoot Paul Shaffer in the head with that little Colt automatic. Don't you?

C'mon, Dave, give me a break!

You live in unguarded fear and see how it feels...
