Live elections results. Polls close in 20 minutes!
McDaniel will win a runoff handily, and every RINO knows that.
Wish they would call it, getting tired
I just found this, regarding cross over voting in run offs, from Pearl Cty MS...
PRIMARY ELECTIONS
Party candidates are nominated through primary elections. A voter may vote in either partys primary, and cast a ballot for that partys nominees to the general election. If no candidate receives a majority of the votes in a primary, a run-off is held between the top two vote-getters.
A voter who votes in the primary of one party may not “crossover” to vote in the run-off of another party.
“Those who wasted their votes on the 3rd party guy - Carey - would have put Chris over the top.”
Anyone have any G2 on Carey? Was he a Rove plant or a RAT plant, or was he just an idiot who wanted to run and screw things up?
Not that it really answers the question ;-/
They probably should. Outstanding results from Covington and Holmes. Both counties have populations of 20,000. They’ll cancel each other out.
He needs a gain of 3,194. Or in other words, McDaniel would need 6982 of the last 10,770 votes to avoid a runoff.
Warren county now gone. Did not help Cochran at all. He has Holmes left. Thats it.
I’m guessing Boss Hogg Haley Barbour’s game now is to try to
manufacture enough Cochran votes to put him ahead of McDaniel,
even though it appears a runoff is almost certain.
I.E. Both below 50%, but Cochran wins slightly more votes.
Covington now reporting the Dem results. Still dark in Holmes.
That’s what I was asking upthread. I only heard back that a vote for Carey is a vote against Cochran.
Covington has 17 precincts vs Holmes 15. Pretty close.
Rankin is still sitting at 68% reported. That should leave a few thousand votes outstanding there. If the percentage is proportional to the votes already cast I think the leaves about 7,000 left to be counted there.
Thomas carey
MSM already starting the drum beat, Mississippi will be in play this November
>”A voter who votes in the primary of one party may not crossover to vote in the run-off of another party”<
That being the case, Thad won’t have a chance in a Runoff.
C. McDaniel 49.6% 149,347
T. Cochran (i) 48.8% 146,835
Covington done. Gave McDaniel a little boost. 98% reporting. Its over I think. I am tentatively calling it for McDaniel. I know Holmes is still out, but so is half of Rankin.
