We don't know that he's a nut. If a struggle between time travellers broke out, and they are moving people and things around through time to fight one another, what's to say this guy wasn't a casualty?

Yeah, I know that anyone who doesn't bow, stoop and genuflect sufficiently to anything with a badge is a "cop hater." Honestly, they don't rate high enough with me for good, old fashioned hate. I tend to lump cops into the same catagory as I put my ex wife...I don't so much hate her, I just don't trust her and the only people who do haven't been around her enough to get screwed over.

. . . there were a few uniformed nuts who would walk out on the highway (where cars were driving 70+) and point cars over to the side. All the people who stopped got tickets, I never stopped.

In the mid '80s I was sent down to Venezuela and learned there were five levels of police, ranging from the guys with AR-16s down to the Brown Shirts. The BS stood by the sides of the highway (saw 'em myself) and waved you over. If you did, they gave you an "instant fine". We were told to look straight ahead and ignore them - most everybody did.

This is common in middle and east TN where shoulders are often limiter dueto hilly or mountain terrain

Yes, cars ought to be regulated, or even banned. They were only designed to kill people. After all, nobody legitimately hunts deer with a high capacity car.
