TPNN News Director Scottie Nell Hughes appeared on Varney & Co. on Fox Business on Friday to discuss Tuesdays elections in which moderate candidates defeated more Tea Party-oriented candidates in a handful of primary races.
Host Stuart Varney said the the victories of the moderates were a significant retreat for the Tea Party, in his opinion and asked Scottie to weigh in.
Lets get it right out there, Varney began. I say that voters in those primaries gravitated more to the moderates, the center of the Republican Party, and a little bit away from the Tea Party. Would you go with that? Varney asked Scottie.
Scottie agreed that this week that seemed to be the result, but reminded Varney of the week before where Senate candidate Ben Sasse from Nebraska easily defeated the GOP establishment-backed moderate candidate.
Scottie told Varney that, This is what primary season is about and that, We have to find ways to unite, after primary season or the GOP is going to lose in November. We are a movement, Scottie said with passion, referring to the pro-liberty, pro-Constitution Tea Party movement, and shouldnt be judged only on electoral wins and losses.
Stuart Varney then asked the question the GOP establishment is dying to know, Will you, Tea Party people, support the moderates in November?

GO MCDANIEL! Mississippi deserves better than Thad the Taxpayer Impaler
The Country-Club, Establishment, Pinky-sticking-out Republicans don’t WANT Tea Party Help. They’d rather lose big, have a large minority, and get the best Tee Times with their “good Democrat friends in Congress” while the Democrats destroy our country by putting us in wars they won’t let our military win, and taking our guns and take-home pay.
Nothing in politics is forever. Nothing.
Nixon won in a landslide in 1972...one of the biggest in history. Within two years he was gone.
Carter’s lame tenure should have destroyed the Democrat party forever. It didn’t.
Reagan’s great example should have been the template for Republican victories for forty years. It wasn’t.
Both Bush presidents hit popularity ratings in or near 90%. Meant nothing.
The Tea Party won’t last forever, but it also isn’t dead. The ideals of it can keep chipping away at the entrenched RINOs for a long, long, time. Because the current entrenchment isn’t guaranteed to last forever either. :)
Cochran is a fornicator who has his wife cooped up in a nursing home.
He is running around the world with his squeeze.
You pegged THAT. McConnell is so assured of his win he has already announced he will keep Harry Reid’s nuclear option in effect only for nominees, but paddy fingers will resume on “issue” legislation, returning to the 60% threshold to pass any thing in the Senate.
How do you turn all this back with the McConnell Marquess of Queensbury Rules?
Comity, and all that, dontchaknow.

humm. i thought i was a tea partyer, but i don’t even know who this guy is, but he apparently speaks for me too.
i guess there are now two tea partys.
1. a self-organized group of citizens whose voluntary actions are loosely unified around the principles of the American revolution with an intense and unabating desire to restore them.
2. and whichever one this guy’s a part of.
Is McDaniel doing anything to (1) condemn the actions of anyone who released those pictures and (2) give a strong, inspirational speech, maybe a long TV ad, explaining with a lot of positives why he’d be a terrific Senator?
Well said!!!
I wish I knew of a way to torture John Cornman for all the rest of his term. We Texans failed in our efforts to find a candidate that could defeat him. I cannot wait to go to the State Convention in Fort Worth and be the first to boo him when he comes on the stage. We all did it last time and will do it again. What a pomp-ass.
I feel the same way. I just can’t believe we couldn’t run a better candidate. As a matter of fact, they were so good I can’t even remember who ran against him. It’s gonna be nice seeing Dewhurst go down.
The state conventions are the last bastion for the grassroots.
The Cornyn types and their backers are never there. They are in financial institutions and academia, all with global money interests. Karl Rove types wih bigger wallets.
Comedy, more like it? Who is running against this bespeckled weakling? I would but barely have mixed feelings if this turncoat lost, actually. McConnell has been, and remains, a big problem. A set back for recovery.
How much worse is his opponent, I wonder?
They never see it coming. Even when they've watched Dem's or GOP's dirty tricks destroy other candidates, they never see it coming.
McDaniel got hurt with that ruse and I don't think he really recovered.

Isn’t THAT the heartbreaking truth. Either way, as you said, and that is the sad effect of electing wolves in sheep’s clothing.
