***I’ve read that during and after WWII Americans refused to buy anything made in Japan.***

After WWII anything shipped to the USA from Japan was trash. I’ve read that the Japanese could not understand why Americans wanted such trash they would not even sell in Japan.
It was not till about 1966 that the Japanese upped their export standards and good stuff started flowing into the US.

Probably related to the culture of it being extremely impolite to say “no” to any request.

“Can you deliver dog treats for less than this cost?”
“Yes”... ALWAYS “Yes”

Someone said it was extremely frustrating when asking any manufacturers over there if they could deliver product by any given deadline. They’d always say “yes” and then not deliver. It was more culturally acceptable to fail on what you agree to than to say you can’t do it when asked.

There aren’t any brands listed in the article by name. One brand is pictured called “Canyon Creek Ranch”, but it’s part of a video of the story so I don’t know if it’s been specifically linked to the deaths (I can’t watch the video).

The article goes on to say even those that say “made in the USA” may have ingredients who’s source is China. So there’s really no way to tell even from reading the label.

It concludes with the personal testimony, “Another dog owner we spoke to, Miriam Bouchma, says after reading about the toxic treats, she’s stopped feeding store bought jerky to her dog Baily altogether.

“I’ve started making my treat at home in terms of the jerky strips, it’s not that hard to do” she said.”

Today I tossed two packages, one of dried liver snacks and one of sweet potato snacks, each of which I found out upon receipt was made in China.

Within a minute thereafter I was on the telephone informing the pet supplies catalog company from which I had received them that I never wanted to see one of their catalogs in my mail box again.

It is possible that these treats were perfectly safe but when my pet’s health or even life is at stake, no chances are taken. And that means he consumes NOTHING from that immoral country of China.

It is getting harder and harder now to NOT find food products from China. Read the labels carefully. Almost all the dog treats in a regular store were from China.

Anyone who Imports the stuff to SELL to the American Public deserves at the very least a real good “talking to” and then being SHUNNED for the duration....

I have 2 Jacks and they love the beef soup bones from the butcher. Make sure they are small enough as to not get their jaws stuck in them but they love them and they last for days.

In the early fifties as a pre-Schooler I had a cheap dime store stamped metal cap pistol. Being a curious lad,I pried the shiny metal tabs to see the guts. The inside faces were still painted with the Schlitz logo.

GI beer cans recycled into cap guns.
