A 93-year-old Central Texas woman was fatally shot at her home by a police officer when after she allegedly brandished a gun, the Hearne Police Department said Wednesday.
Pearlie Golden, a longtime resident of Hearne who was affectionately known to her neighbors as Ms. Sully, was shot Tuesday night by Officer Steven Stem, Robertson County District Attorney Coty Siegert said. Stem was responding to a 911 call about a disturbance involving a woman with a gun.

Maybe she had hearing loss and couldn’t hear him say to put the gun down.
that phrase and "fear for my life" are now he standard boilerplate phrase for killing dogs/puppies and old ladies -
You will ALWAYS here those two protestations - It's Police training 101.
NOT being factitious. This is now standard protocol.
Immunized, careless, and pensioned.
These days I’ll give the benefit of doubt to the woman instead of the cop. Local farmer and his wife, both in their 90s, sharp as tacks did more work before 9 am than most do all day.
Hmmm...interesting.So you're in Michigan,or Vermont,or Oregon (or wherever) and your granddaughter's been taken to New Mexico (or maybe even *Old* Mexico)????? My goodness, you're an amazingly powerful and capable guy.A guy who can't even admit that he'd call the police in any one of a hundred...or a thousand...situations,including a kidnapping.
And then we can move on to the matter of your 93 year old mother...you know, the one who's been failing, physically and mentally, for the last five years or so.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.
Crime is grease for the Machine. You think they WANT crime eliminated or even reduced?
If you don't believe me, just look at your own State institutions:
It's all "Department of Corrections", unless a criminal escapes from the Machine, and hides for 20 or 30 years, keeps their nose clean, builds a new life, and reforms.
What happens when they finally catch up to the reformed criminal that escaped?
Then it's all "Department of Punishment". Just think of all the cogs who that criminal cheated out of work...
If I were the responding LEO and I determined that no one, including my self, was in danger because of the lady, I would have safely backed off, and called for an HRT. But I wasn’t there, and neither were you folks.
One thing I do know, a bullet fired by a 93 year old woman is the same as one fired by someone a third of her age.
Big leap there with no evidence.
a disturbance from a 93 year old with a gun sounds like a senile old woman
He has his Batman toolkit all loaded up.
You won’t be missed!!!
Oh for pete’s sake - a 93 year old lady. He should have just cooled his jets for a little bit and she would have become tired and put her gun down so she could catch a nap.
Put those together and there's a good chance your theory is wrong, although there is a chance it is correct. Your own experience not useful, it just creates bias.
Dang. They missed the dog.
Having worked EMS, I can tell you that it can get scary. Especially in the projects because they think the ambulance is chock full of morphine and black tar heroin.
Many of the calls involved crazy people that don’t want to go. Being unarmed, we were forced to be polite when they picked up the knife.
Combative is the phrase we used. Your only defense sometimes is to haul azz. They can’t run very fast.

News 3 has learned the person who has called 911 is Pearlie Golden's nephew. A few days ago,
the Texas Department of Public Safety refused to renew her drivers license. The nephew was
trying to take her keys away. Golden got upset, grabbed her gun and threatened him.
When Officer Stephen Stem arrived, he asked Golden to put down the weapon and then
ultimately fir(ed) his own sidearm, wounding Miss Golden.

Elderly Woman Shot & Killed By Hearne Police Officer
This is the second time Stem has been involved in a deadly shooting
since July 22, 2012 when he was employed.
This is what I responded to....
If you would have said some..maybe even most..maybe I wouldn't have replied.
Just seems like a blanket statement...and one I don't agree with.
Fair enough?
