Yeah. My job can fine, suspend, perhaps even fire me due to words I speak. Private entities have rules. They have contracts. If you had a business and one of your employees turned away customers becuase of “words” you bet you’d try to get rid of them as well.

I don’t always agree with Mark Cuban, but he is absolutely right on this.

He is an owner, not just an employee.

"The NBA contracts inculdes clauses about making the NBA, a private entity, look bad."

And just what is the specific language of the franchise agreement at issue? If it is just a vague "detrimental conduct" clause then Sterlinlg has a strong lawsuit.

I wonder how many of those "outraged" people have said far worse in their private conversations? It's obvious the guy is the usual Dem hypocrite who is a scumbag in every way, but fining and banning for life for a private conversation which was probably released as an extortion plot is beyond any measure of justice or reason. It would not surprise me to find that Magic Johnson was actually in on this to get control of the team.

This is one white boy who will never again watch an NBA game or support their advertisers in any way.

Perhaps the NBA knows it, but needed to do something to get the race baiters off their backs.

IN THEORY? IN THEORY?

Yes, in theory. In actual practice, he was banned from operating his own business, for life.

“Did he do something illegal?”

He lost some housing discrimination cases, and paid some big fines.

Receptionist: "Welcome to NBA Headquarters. How may I help you?"

UPS Driver: "Hi, I have a delivery. Two hundred and fifty million pennies in bulk from a Mr. Sterling?"

I draw a huge distinction between what a private business does and what government does. You can badmouth your employer all you want. You have that right. But don’t whine if you lose your job.

I was a big Knicks fan back in the day, but now I watch solely for David Lee who is one of the smartest and hardest working players who all players should strive to be like. But a lot of the players and fans see him as some white geeky chump. After Lee retires, I'll be done with the NBA for good and I won't miss it.
