He should simply shut down the team, completely. No contract buyouts, no nothing.

Just my opinion, of course.

The NBA is a “totalitarian regime,” in a sense. But it is one that Sterling voluntarily joined. He’ll take his hundreds of millions and move elsewhere.

You guys have to admit, this guy is a scumbag. Especially in light of what he did with his housing units years ago. The NBA had evey right to do what they did.

Well here is our problem on that (and some other) issues. Outside of us (Tea Party), no one cares. No one is going to care. It is going to be a parade all the way until 2016 and we will be shouted down and made to look like lunatics. Idiots run “our” show (Darrel Issa, Boehner, etc) and I don’t see that changing.

We may think and express one thing here, but America doesn’t give a good d***. And that is horrifyingly sad.

“The fine is inappropriate and in a sane world the NBA would have no authority to impose such a fine. “

Exactly, and now we have a private organization acting like the federal government.

Yeah, it would be funny if next week, no one in the organization got a paycheck.

Conservatives need to change the argument. Every time somebody is accused of racism the argument needs to be changed to if a person approves of some blacks but disapproves of other blacks are they racist?

I may agree the guy is a scumbag but I don't agree that anyone should be fined and banned for life for a private comment made in a private conversation. Where does that end?

Girlfriends..., stickin it to the man!

If this had been a guy pulling this routine on a famous old actress, does anyone think she would get this kind of treatment?

But, but, but he is a beloved democrat.

“Donald Sterling was a donor to several Democratic politicians, long before racist remarks were attributed to the owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers.”

Doh!! More inconvenient truth.

There is no Free Speech application here. This is a private business. He signed the agreements. It is a contract issue. He voluntarily bought an NBA team. There is no government action here. This is entirely a private matter.
