They can detect different elements under the sea from an airplane? Impressive if true. Seems this would be pretty hand for ASW.
If they can do a light spectral analysis from an airplane, than it’s certainly possible that they could do this.

Also a bunch of press releases on 3/14/2014 - 3/15/2014 indicated that classified radar from US and Malaysia indicated the plane went down in the Bay of Bengal. One 3/15/2014 Malaysia told India to stop searching in the Bay of Bengal.
