Top 25 Most Dangerous Neighborhoods in America
neighborhoodscout.com ^

Posted on 04/27/2014 5:16:35 AM PDT by ilovesarah2012

Even the most dangerous cities in America can have relatively safe neighborhoods, as there is more variation in crime within most cities than between cities. But using exclusive data developed by NeighborhoodScout, and based on FBI data from all 17,000 local law enforcement agencies in America, we here report those specific neighborhoods in America that have the highest predicted rates of violent crime per 1,000 neighborhood residents of all. Violent crimes include murder, forcible rape, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. These neighborhoods are the epicenters of violence in America, where social issues are likely to ignite into violence and spread. See our FAQ on how we rank the most dangerous neighborhoods

Click on any neighborhood name below to view the neighborhood map and full profile.

Rank Neighborhood Violent Crime Rate (per 1,000) My Chances of Becoming a Victim Here (in one year) 25 Baton Rouge, LA (N Lobdell Ave / Harry Dr) 68.96 1 in 15 24 Chicago, IL (S Pulaski Rd / W Lexington St) 71.55 1 in 14 23 St. Louis, MO (Clara Ave / Saint Louis Ave) 72.09 1 in 14 22 Washington, DC (Atlantic St SE / 4th St SE) 72.65 1 in 14 21 Saginaw, MI (Lapeer Ave / E Genesee Ave) 73.17 1 in 14 20 Chicago, IL (S Indiana Ave / E 60th St) 75.18 1 in 13

Good to see New Orleans has recovered from Katrina

Jackson, TN was the only one that surprised me.

Oklahoma City - on Martin Luther King avenue - shocking. (A bit surprised that Dallas didn’t make it with a neighborhood that contains MLK, Caesar Chavez, and Malcolm X all in one place. )

This article is from 1996, a long time ago, but very interesting. It’s long and I haven’t finished it yet, but I think it’s worth the read.

My Black Crime Problem, and Ours
John J. DiIulio, Jr.

Violent crime is down in New York and many other cities, but there are two big reasons to keep the champagne corked. One is that murder, rape, robbery, and assault remain at historic highs: the streets of Manhattan, like those of Houston, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, and Los Angeles, remain much less safe today than in the 1950s and 1960s. Worse, though policing and prison policies matter, nothing affects crime rates more than the number of young males in the population—and by the year 2010, there will be about 4.5 million more males age 17 or under than there were in 1990: 8 percent more whites and 26 percent more blacks. Since around 6 percent of young males turn out to be career criminals, according to the historical data, this increase will put an estimated 270,000 more young predators on the streets than in 1990, coming at us in waves over the next two decades. Numerous studies show that each succeeding generation of young male criminals commits about three times as much serious crime as the one before it: the occasional fatal knife fight of 1950s street gangs has given way to the frequent drive-by shootings of 1990s gangs.

The second reason to keep the champagne corked is that not only is the number of young black criminals likely to surge, but also the black crime rate, both black-on-black and black-on-white, is increasing, so that as many as half of these juvenile super-predators could be young black males. But just when we need to think most earnestly about black crime, the space for honest discourse about race and crime is shrinking. The evidence of that shrinkage is everywhere: in the lickety-split O.J. verdict and its racially polarized aftermath, in the utter certitude of many blacks that the justice system is rigged against them, in the belief of many whites that violent crime is synonymous with black crime and the fear they feel of every young black male passerby not wearing a tie or handcuffs.

What has made our views on race and crime so polarized—and often so out of touch with reality? What are the facts about race and crime? And what are Americans, blacks and whites together, to do about it?

http://www.city-journal.org/html/6_2_my_black.html

The above is an excerpt. On the one hand, it seems a complicated issue. On the other, it seems so simple.

Stay in school and while there, actually learn. Join some clubs, volunteer, hang out with the smart kids and emulate them. Go to college or trade school. Get a job and prove yourself and work your way up. Get married to someone with a good education and good job prospects. Buy a home and have a child or two and teach your children well.

Or would that be too “acting white”?

Uh...lemmie see, Jewish males from 18-25 cappin each other over $2 pack matzah?

Perhaps it would be elderly Amish men assaulting rival Quakers over buggy land rights?

Japanese restaurant owners vying for Chinese restaurant territory.

How bout LBGT rioting over the lack of boutiques in the area. I dunno...I'm so confused.

All black areas? Controlled by RATS? Enough to oppose “diverse” housing projects in middle class areas.

I am concerned about the area where I live in Central Indiana - Hancock County. I have started a list of “common causes” that I want to share in my Community.

My thoughts include (Comments are appreciated):

HOW TO SCREW UP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND CITY -
*Allow gangs to exist
*Don’t jail drug dealers
*Allow subsidized housing for non-law abiding people
*Give in to PC and Liberal - “Why can’t we all get along”
*Don’t fight and throw out “Common Core” and UN Agenda 21
*Accept Socialism
*Give up your Guns
*Allow inner city Buses to bring Inner city “utes” to your shopping areas
*Continue to Vote for Democrats

This study should make it easy for those democrat mayors to focus police presents. On second thought. That could be seen as racist.

Speaking of shopping areas, malls now have Code of Conduct signs. We didn’t have those when I was growing up. We knew how to behave. Malls have now become hangouts for gangs and criminals. I avoid the malls.

The Black Underclass. Even many black people are aware of the problem...like Chris Rock . Until something is done to this ever expanding menace, the future of the country looks grim. The Black Underclass increases every year driving out respectable blacks and whites. No elites from either side of the political spectrum have the guts to say what has to be done...the BU must be eliminated.

p.s. I just read a story of a woman from Chicago who was shot to death after returning from an anti-violence rally. What are the chances it was not a young, black male who pulled the trigger?

I used to work with a black guy from Omaha. He said he’d never go back there to live because of the violence.

In a sane world, common sense would rule, and we’d be able to program our GPS’s to steer clear of those areas.
But our world is ruled by PC, and it willingly sacrifices innocent victims on its altar.

If you want to find the worst ares in a any metropolitan area, find Martin Luther King Blvd and take it.

There was talk in Kansas City, MO, by "civic leader" Alvin Brooks to rename Prospect avenue to Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd. Prospect was once a major residential and business thoroughfare (my mother grew up at 3317 Prospect) through Kansas City, but now best known as the place where most inner city crime occurs.

These neighborhoods are often featured in a long-running TV show.

And if the media had bothered to report the entirety of what Cliven Bundy said, he was bemoaning the state of Negroes in ‘RAT-run cities, not advocating a return to slavery. But it’s not truth the Regressives want known; it’s Socialism they want to impose.

Are we racist for pointing out the obvious? Why are these the most dangerous neighborhoods?

A big part of the problem is how the population keeps putting the corrupt leaders who caused and perpetuate high rates of violent crime back into office. How many Chicago politicians have wound up in jail?

It's sad to say, but a population usually gets the political representation it deserves.
