Russian propaganda. I’ll believe it when the NY Times reports it. Oh, on second thought...scratch that.

It’s not propaganda if the Russians do it!

RT is the propaganda arm of the Sov, er Russian government.

And the NYTs,NBC,ABC,CBS is the propaganda arm of the USA.

Just as it should be, fair and balanced.

Question; who is more believable?

I'd have to say it's neck to neck, with RT wining by a length.

I've been asking this question for weeks: if what RT does is ok because MSNBC does it, is what MSNBC does ok because RT does it?

And take it another step farther. How come we don't see FReepers "excusing" MSNBC by citing RT, instead of "excusing" RT by citing MSNBC?

RT will get even more shrill because Putin has painted himself into a corner with all this astroturfed mayhem. He doesn’t have the support of the vast majority of locals in E. Ukraine.

Given a choice, few people want to be ruled by kidnappers and murders. Al Qaeda in Ukraine is committing one own goal after another. Now they apparently kidnapped some Germans. Brilliant.

I’m not sure RT will become more “shrill.” It appears to be much more polished than during the Russian invasion of Georgia, when it was assuring us that the Georgians were just Muslims.

And somehow the most trusted news source for some of the most active people posting about Ukraine in Free Republic.

Kronos77 has posted 4 articles today. All of them about Ukraine, 3 from RT and one from The Guardian. Two articles yesterday. Both about Ukraine, one from RT and other from Voice of Russia.

Woot, more yet more RT propaganda.

Maybe start posting from Granma? Cuban state propaganda is bound to be just as enlightening.

I believe it. The Ukrainians have lousy logistics. The best shape they were in was when we supported them in Iraq

Comparing RT with MSNBC is comparing apples to oranges. It's like comparing the Wheel of Fortune Show with the Jerry Springer Show

Comparing RT with the NYT is closer to apples to apples.

From what I've read, the NYT's, has had a playbook agenda by it's neocon owners, to destroy Russia. They never give the other side of the argument. They are supporting an empire against a weak and now isolated country.

The RT is supporting it's country in a more nuanced and truthful way.

To read both, objectively , is hard for biased people, but so far the RT is winning.

The native people of Slavyansk are Russian speakers. The Ukraine is their homeland. About half are Russian-speaking Ukrainians, who retained their forefathers’ language and religion from before there was ever a land called Ukraine. The other half are Russians, or descended from Russians, who moved into the area while the whole of the region was part of the Russian Empire.

Their democratically elected government was over-run by European-Union funded mercernaries. The supposed crime which justified this coup was the very sort of actions that the Kiev junta is now using against them.

RT is like what Voice of America was during the Cold War.

Point being all governments have their mouthpieces in one form or another, and they all should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

The only difference I see on FR is, when someone points out Russian news media needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt, the whining about MSNBC begins, or an attempt is made to change the subject.

RT is like NPR. Both are directly government controlled.

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and all the rest are controlled by global corporations who in turn are controlled indirectly by global tyrants around the world. At various points in our history, the Soviets, then the EU crowd and now the Muslim tyrants have dominated our corporate media with their propaganda.

All that said, nobody produces such total made up BS propaganda like the Soviets/Russians and their directly controlled news organizations.
