Young adults who smoke marijuana may be at risk for serious or even fatal heart problems, according to a study by French researchers on Wednesday.

The findings in the Journal of the American Heart Association raises new concerns about the safety of marijuana, just as many parts of the world are relaxing laws on its use and medicinal marijuana is gaining popularity for treating certain health conditions. ...

The truth? The truth is that the drug prohibition is a relatively new (to our republic) and (blatantly)unconstitutional power grab unprecedented in united states history, and all the of ills that could justifiably laid at the feet of legal and easily available drugs pales in comparison to the harm wrought on our republic by government subverting the constitution.

What's the big deal? Democrats are animals. Let them lose their souls.

Seriously. The Left side of the Bell Curve is eminently expendable. They are killing their children, themselves, their future. Let's make it profitable. Tax pot.

“The fact is, a ruling junta prefers their subject population to be docile and passive—and marijuana is the perfect vehicle to deliver that desired mental state.”

I’d say the various designer psychotropics and stimulants that are prescribed to people like candy are the vehicle.

In more and more schools it is becoming MANDATORY FOR YOUR CHILDREN if they don’t act like the others. Children can even be prescribed METH if they have a high tolerance to stimulants. Children go through brain changes and become addicted to these pills for LIFE!

But I understand. It’s easy to miss big pharma as the world’s largest dope dealer. The cute 24/7 commercials, fake studies and government approval/bribery keep them well hidden.

I love how these articles warning of the health risks of smoking pot are coming out now that it is on the cusp of becoming legal. When it was clearly illegal, Liberals loved it. Now that its legal or almost legal in a lot of jurisdictions, the MSM and Libs can’t resist the temptation to want to see its downside and use it to control people’s behaviour just like they want to stop people from drinking Big Gulps and eating at McDonalds.

The truth is that 99.9% of people can harmlessly eat or vaporize this natural plant that has been used in medicine for thousands of years. There has not been ONE recorded case of damage from it. Not even one story in all recorded history. Not one bad before-after brain scan with all our imaging technology. Not one study of twins confirming damage. Not one animal damaged in a lab from doses far exceeding anything in real life. ZERO.

Oh for the sake of God give it up. There is a good reason why pot has been on the fringes of society and culture for well...forever! Yes, there are negative physical consequences but more importantly it's damaging in mentally, emotionally and spiritually in ways that alcohol is not.

There's not some grand conspiracy to keep pot underground. It's a simple recognition over thousands and thousands of years that humans and pot are NOT a good combination.

It stunts the emotional and spiritual growth of people. Stops it dead in it's tracks. Legalize it and we have a whole generation in arrested development. A whole generation of idiots stuck at 14 or 15 or 16 years old or whenever they first started smoking dope.

It's EXACTLY why we have leftist thought dominating our government and society...because a bunch of idiot, hippy, dope smoking potheads ARE in charge and are perpetually stuck in an adolescent mindset and figure that their mindset is good for the country.

SEX DRUGS AND ROCK AND ROLL is the policy of our government and culture.

The truth is that there is still a whole generation of people who can only associate marijuana users with the people who took to the streets and ruined the fun of sending someone else's kids to die in Vietnam. Luckily those people are dying off.

Nooooo...that’s not true! Marijuana is totally harmless. It’s GOOD to smoke! It’s the same as water! It has NO effect whatever on the human body-that’s why people want to use it!/sarc
And marijuana users believe this because it makes them STUPID!
Medical Marijuana?? If the active ingredient can be put in pill form ONLY for ‘medical’ reasons, wouldn’t that be good and less harmful than smoking it? Would that eliminate the ‘high’ people don’t get and eliminate the ‘medical’ excuse for self-stupefication?

it is already available in pill form.

The dosage can/is made far lower for the identical effect as “charlotte web”, the scam for giving pot to sick children. (lung cancer instead of siezures vs a pill which simply reduces seizures without cancer)

Western society, in general, has not embraced pot usage throughout it’s development and history. On the other hand, pot has a long history of use in Eastern/Islamic cultures.

BRAVO!! That’s it in a nutshell. Get’em hooked, make’em dependent AND dumbed down and you have docile slaves who only want the next fix. Sheep are good- stoned sheep are best!

I want someone who supports marijuana usage to tell me HOW adding MORE addicted/impaired people to our society is a good thing? I DARE anyone to prove that it does!
It’s always, ‘well, it’s no worse than alcohol and that’s legal’. Yes- and drinking destroys homes and lives. Numbing your brain/reflexes with alcohol is destructive. So ADDING stoned people to the ‘ok’ list makes it better for a society HOW?? ‘No worse than’ is not an improvement. I don’t see how adding stoned people to society’s ‘ok list’, in addition to the drunks, makes anything better.

Sure it has. There are millions of Americans, living right now, who have tried it & continue to use it.

The comments from Dennis Miller last night were hilarious... paraphrasing:

Pot heads are weak — take them down, they are weak and an easy mark, “they are showing a limp on the Serengeti.”

They’ll be asking you to cut their grass for 20 bucks or to remove the snow from your driveway for 20 bucks.

In an ideal society, we allow adults to make their own decisions about their lives, not the Government. Allowing people to make their own decisions inevitably means some will make the wrong ones.

The big problem for the pro-Big Government crowd is millions of Americans of all shapes, sizes & political persuasions have & continue to smoke marijuana & the overwhelming majority experience no major problems as a result.

As a result, the pro-Big Goverment crowd feels the need to lie about the effects - Addiction! Crime! Sharknados!

I'm more worried about the effects on the Fourth Amendment, states' rights & the prison system. But, then again, I don't just say I'm for small government.

Exactly! Find a non-productive, regressive culture and you'll find a bunch of people sitting around getting stoned. These cultures are the opposite of Godly and almost always lack a work ethic and morality that capitalism requires.

It's exactly WHERE our culture is headed...heck we're 65% there already.
