‘420’ REVELERS LEAVE GOLDEN GATE PARK WITH 10,000 POUNDS OF GARBAGE
Breitbart ^ | 23 Apr 2014 | by ROBERT WILDE

The mellow, "peace now," countercultural, environmentally conscious “420” celebration deposited 10,000 pounds of garbage on what is known as Hippie Hill in Golden Gate Park, leaving volunteers and park workers to clean up the mess.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s website SF Gate, this year’s celebration drew a massive amount of revelers estimated at between 10,000 and 15,000. The pot smokers' untidiness will cost the city more than $10,000 in cleanup costs.

The immense load of empty bags of chips, candy wrappers, and snack containers left behind was evidence that it was indeed the remnants of weed smokers with a case of the munchies on steroids.

Hmmmmmmm? Let me see, 10,000 lbs of garbage left by 450 “Revelers”? Doing the math is appears that, on average, each attendee would have to left 250 lbs each.

I see reason to challenge the head count at the “party” as being as few as 450.

I was being extra generous and rounded the number up by 30. Live with it.

I’ve seen worse at the infield of the Indy 500

At least those people paid for a ticket which then paid for the groundskeepers to clean up. Somehow I don't think the 420 crowd is kicking in big property taxes that pay to keep the park clean.

10,000 lbs of trash in one day left by 10,000 people. A pound per person average!

Pot smokers are a lot like gay men; all they both think about is their weed.

They probably figure their moms will clean it up.

Reminds me of the detritus left behind at the ‘million mom march’ except the mmm’ers not only trashed the mall[?] but left behind full PALLETS of unused handouts, buttons, etc... Looked for pics but no luck, ah well.

24 lbs per person?

10,000 lbs of garbage

10,000-15,000 partiers...

I’m trying to figure out how that is 24lbs per person...????

Yes, it’s clearly a pound or less per person.

Did they actually weigh and add up all the garbage they hauled out of there?

Would it be any worse with any other crowd of this size gathering in a public park for this amount of time?

Also, it has been my experience that most people, including dope smokers, will put their garbage in bins, provided there are enough of them, they can get to them, and they aren’t already overflowing with garbage. But then this wasn’t some sort of organized festival where there would be provisions for that, I guess.

Interestingly enough, when Glenn Beck held his event in DC, there was NO TRASH left behind.

This story is deceptive as it fails to mention most of the weight was from gold dropped by stoned leprechauns.

The ‘Earth Day’ celebration in NYC’s Central Park in 1990 left behind 1,543 tons of litter.

Leftards are nothing if not hypocrites.

I went to a Tea Party gathering in 2009. At the CT state Capitol. Not one flower was crunched or 1 bit of litter was picked up. I put my gum wrapper in my pocket. 4,000 people were there that day.

Race Bannon was the main organizer then.

Revealing comment of the officials' (Lt. Simon Silverman of the San Francisco Police Department's Park Station) mindset (emphasis mine):

"Still, Silverman described Saturday's activities as relatively smooth and free from violence, other than a robbery and the numerous ambulances called for medical problems related to the drugs and alcohol.

He said issuing tickets for littering or other infractions would have overwhelmed the department's resources."
Using the anti-gunners' mantra, "It's a good first step."

How proud the people of San Francisco must be to see their city used for such fun on Easter Sunday.
