Of course I agree with you. But that is not a substitute for diligence. There’s not a time when I get in my truck that I don’t think about that 1911 in my console and whether it needs to be there. NEVER. It’s the same when my grand children come over - where are my guns?
If I have clothes on I always have my carry pistol on too. How am I going to know if it "needs" to be there in advance?
Scares me to think of someone else--maybe a guy like you, maybe someone far worse--deciding whether I "needed" it, before or after the fact.
