Gas Prices Hit 13-Month Highs, Prompt Macro Concerns
zero hedge ^ | 4/20/14 | tyler durden

At $3.67, US Regular gasoline prices are their highest since March 2013 having risen over 12% (40c) in the last 2 months. This must be great news, right? It must mean world demand is picking up and driving up prices of crude oil as global trade soars (amid a collapsing Baltic Dry and decelerating Chinese growth). This can't be related to "war premia" right? - as we noted here - because stocks (which always know best) have discounted all this tomfoolery. However, as the following chart shows, each time gas prices have surged up toards the Maginot Line of $3.80, US macro-economic fundamentals have collapsed... the only problem is, this time is different - because macro data is already weak going in (and expectations for the post-weather pop are high).

And the demon in the White House is grinning ear to ear. He is a man who hates America and Americans and this is his goal - to destroy us economically, politically, and internationally. And that other racist Holder is working hand in glove with him.

Just filled up the ol’ pick em up truck. Took $125.00 limit at the pump, still not full when I left. $4.39.9 a gallon. A little more than 28.4 gallons.

Got the back tank filled, but only almost full on the front one, and decided I didn’t want to go inside, and go through the procedure to get another four gallons to finish topping off that front tank.

Thanks Democrats.

If we had a Republican President, Gas Prices would dominate the News Cycle.

Haven’t heard squat about it and I’m paying $4.25 a Gallon here in good old Californy.

The Media is so transparent.

If it wasn’t for the intense Democrat desire to get everybody out of personal vehicles and into mass transit, you’d see the fedgov issuing “gas stamps” for the poor...

Recovery for Wall $treet but not Main Street
Homeless problem

It’s not the New Reports, it’s who decides what News to Report.

$3.67?! The cheapest here in San Diego is $3.99. I just paid well over $4.00. Thank you Barry for appeasing the Arabs.

Exactly! I'm in Anaheim,CA. and gas has gone up forty cents plus in the last ten days. If Bush was in office the so called media and the demonrats would be screaming collusion and demanding Bush's head on a pike. What's the reason for the increase and where will it go when we get hit with the summer blend fee?

Oh they cry themselves to sleep over 3% inflation while their investments are getting 10% returns due to the inflationary practices of the Fed.

It’s like the genie curse of everything you wish for your enemy gets twice as much of. Poor dumb people demand the Feds inflate the money while the crony capitalists benefit.

I’d almost wager money when he’ll become the first president to live abroad in his retirement. That’s how being wealthy works. You can afford to flee the disaster.

I do that when I get gas. Not that exact words, usually I write, "Like these gas prices, thank an Obama voter"

Oddly gratifying.

Not a problem. Obama will decree that in the future, gas prices will be noted in rubles per liter.

Problem fixed!

I will never allow the tank of my sports car to go below half empty and when that isn’t possible, I fill it only half way because I don’t want to have a stroke or heart attack.

“I’d almost wager money when he’ll become the first president to live abroad in his retirement. “

I’d like to add to my previous comment,

“One can hope.”

...that he would be wise to choose a country with no extradition treaty with the US.
