This is a letter to the employees of a local restaurant. It's survived for decades, but is finally closing due to the latest increase in California's minimum wage. I guess it's better for the employees to have a higher wage, but no job with which to earn it.
Will their unemployment benefits be based on what they were being paid, or on the new minimum wage?

Unemployment benefits are based on your earnings for the previous 4 quarters.
The Libs baffle me. The real money for a waiter or waitress is not paid by the establishment. What real good does raising the wages by a buck who only work 20-30 hours per week?

Those who have been there awhile and proven their value are probably well above minimum wage anyway. It's new help or those of little value who are the problem.

Sounds like the new minimum goes into effect after they plan to close, so seems like the benefits would be based on what they were being paid.
I’m betting that most of the employees voted for Obama and were giddy to hear about the raise in MW!!! Yaaaaay! They all screamed! Time now to cuss out the owners for not digging into their own gold lined pockets! I’ll bet they have a boat and a car and a house and everything! Sell it! Pay me!

The oppressed are finally free to earn that piece of eternal pie in the sky, the maximum minimum wage! Now to find an establishment that we can bankrupt until the next big prize so we can eat!
Leftists believe that all businesses exploit their employees. They don’t care if they force them to close. In their ‘minds’ only the state can run a business properly.
