If Hillary was inevitable in 2008 and fell short, why are the talking heads and political pros so convinced that she is really inevitable this time around?

She had only been Senator for a short time. Now she has Secretary of State added to her resume. That is the difference. I know Obama beat her last time, but the country wanted that new shiny penny....however, they found out it was mighty tarnished. The “Hope and Change” nonsense won’t work this time round. The country wants to have familiarity this time and that is why Clinton is being held up to high esteem and also why Jeb Bush is the talk of the town right now. People had their time to rebel now it is time to get back to the “adults”. Like a teenager whose parents allow them to be free for awhile. The teenager finds out it is not what it is cracked up to be.

She was elected senator in 2000, so in 2008 she had more years in the Senate (although devoid of any achievements) than she spent in the Department of State.

She ought to be touting her one achievement as Secretary of State--she flew more air miles than any previous Secretary of State. No doubt consumed more booze at 35,000 feet than any other Secretary of State too.

The liberals in the Democratic Party were suspicious of Bill Clinton in 1992--he was too "centrist" for them. Hillary may be more of a rigid left-wing ideologue than Bill, but she might be more willing to compromise with the Republicans than Obama has been, just like Bill was.
