Kiev: Military operation in Ukraine southeast to go on despite Geneva agreement
RT ^ | 4-17-2014 | RT

Despite calls for a peaceful dialogue in the document on Ukraine adopted in Geneva, the coup-imposed Ukrainian Foreign Minister said it will not affect the “anti-terrorist” operation in the East of the country and the troops will remain there.

Soon after the Geneva document, adopted at a four-side meeting between Ukraine, the US, the EU and Russia, was published, Ukraine’s acting Foreign Minister Andrey Deshchytsa said Kiev is not bound by its recommendations.

According to Deshchytsa cited by RIA Novosti, “the troops in the East of the country are carrying out a special operation and can remain where they are.”

Well... That didn't take long.

Kiev is just going to ignore the Geneva Agreement.

It sure looks like it. I thought the agreement necessitated a withdraw.

The agreement was full of generalities about “illegal formations” and such. Russia calls Kiev illegal, and Kiev calls the eastern occupations illegal, so everyone agrees that their adversary needs to back off.

Now the Civil War (and a likely Russian intervention) can begin in earnest.

And Russia can say “Well, we tried” when Obama complains about it, then point to Libya as a precedent.

Kerry just isn’t smart enough to think this through, is he?

So the Banderists in Kiev are going to continue sending troops to Eastern Ukraine to surrender their tanks, apcs and other weapons to the locals in exchange for vodka and pelmini?

Yup. No one sees RIA Novosti reporting that those Russian “tourists” occupying the buildings are leaving, either.

Note the part about “All illegal groups must be disarmed”....

Russia considers the coup government in Kiev to be itself illegal, and Lavrov noted “Illegal armed groups that took over buildings in Kiev” after the meeting.

Did Kerry just hand Russia the justification for intervention?

I'm wondering why anyone would want to take responsibility for the coup government in Kiev. If they'd behaved rationally they probably would've won the vote. Now they'll probably lose another chunk of eastern Ukraine.

Will you stop yammering about "justification?" Every day, the Russians come up with one. And even they understand that they don't need one. The only purpose in using that word is because that's how you want to "spin" it.

“Will you stop yammering about “justification?” Every day, the Russians come up with one.”

Now that justification is enshrined in an International agreement. Do you understand the difference?

Russia is saying America has responsibility and influence on the coup government in Kiev.

http://rt.com/news/geneva-document-ukraine-deescalation-224/

According to the Russian top diplomat, the Americans now have a “decisive influence” on the Kiev authorities, which should be used for resolving the crisis.

No kidding. Wouldn’t be the first time the Russians took advantage of Kerry over wording. Heinz vinegar, meet Kerry water.

The traitors are dealt with, not as swiftly and severely as they should be, but surely. Anti-terrorist operation is perfectly legal and will continue, despite sabotage by orcs - felons are excluded from amnesty agreement and are getting caught and punished.

And as I mentioned, hopefully the Russians can bring some of their influence to bear on the pro-Russian demonstrators. Oh, wait . . . the U.S. has the obligation, but Russia does not. According to RT, of course.

Putin held a referendum in Crimea.

Will he hold one in Chechnya?

Didn’t Russia sign an agreement to honor the territorial integrity of Ukraine?

Uhhh...
You do understand that Lavrov/Russia considers the Maidan Coup Government to be “an illegal armed group”, right?

So, you won’t have any problem when Russia launches its own “Anti-terrorist” actions?

Try thinking for a minute.
