That’s why I could never be on Fox as a host or regular contributor. These liberals are trying to destroy our country. I can’t just forget about that in the interest of appearing “nice”.

This is not a game. It’s not Wile E. Coyote versus the sheep dog, where we fight all day and be nice to each other at the end of the day. This is a fight for the future of our country — for our FREEDOM and our children’s freedom. Thanks to politicians we are LESS FREE than at any time in my lifetime. These glad-handing hosts on TV are NOT proper mentors for us. At the end of every day they go home to their plush homes in the suburbs, and check their Facebook pages for an ego stroking from their adoring fan base, while our rights and freedoms continue to be eroded at an astounding rate by fascists in the government, men in black robes, and yes, their talking-head allies.

In their heart of hearts, every Democrat is a communist. I never lose sight of that fact.

RE: They need to understand the basic principle of Live and Let Live first, before anything else.

Well, they can start by NOT forcing, coercing or suing anyone who does not want to service gay weddings.

Let’s see that happen first.

Precisely.

But it won’t happen. They won’t stop.

So we can’t - and won’t - either.

Buying control of a company does allow one to make changes with the expectation that the "horse will go faster". There are certainly some practical aspects of a person with one thousand dollars trying to control a company worth a billion dollars. They must share control with a very large group. But very expensive companies get bought in their entirety all the time.

As for the horse's owners not benefitting from the "bets", that is simply not so. If the market place is willing to "bet" more for your stock, you may either sell what you own at a huge profit or issue new stock to undertake expansion of the business. Almost every large company and many smaller ones provide "stock incentives" to their professional staff. The staff benefit directly and sometimes very greatly by increases in the "bets".

Many progressives lament the large payouts that some CEOs and other officers make when their incentives are tied to rapidly rising stock prices, as if talented people would be willing to work for a fixed salary when they are responsible for the fate of a large corporation.

The Left typically doesn’t have positions that stand up to true rigorous analysis and argumentation, so they have to fall back to ad hom. It’s all they have, at core, much of the time.

True, on the other hand, maybe the past five plus years has been an education, for them ;)

This is true; the market enables the hostile takeover, and yes more stock can be issued to raise more money and the current price will be some kind of guide as to what it is worth.

But, someone who buys stock and then wishes to sell it, has to sell it back to the “market” and not to the company that issued it. Redemption value of the stock rests on the “bets” and not necessarily on the horse’s performance.

NewsCorp execs endorsed John Kerry in 2004. I guess because GW Bush was “too extreme” even for them.

“They (Fox News) have too many alternative lifestyle sympathies to be trustworthy.”

That’s a kind way to put it. Yeah, they’ve been thoroughly co-opted by the homosexualists as well as the amnesty pimps. In other words, Fox News is more GOPe than conservative, but at least they present some sort of alternative to the constant liberal drumbeat of the rest of the major “news” organizations.

That’s pretty funny. I lived there for 45 years and two weeks before the 2008 election I bought my small farm in central KY, partly as a “bug out” location.

And I thought McCain would win.*

*My point is that, as bad as I thought it could get under Obama, I thought it would get pretty bad under McCain as well.

Many (most?) liberals are liberals because that’s what they assume they need to be in order to be considered intelligent, compassionate, and fashionable - very few have thought out the intellectual positions that go with liberalism.

For those, it follows that conservatives are the converse - stupid, heartless and crass. Because their default position on politics hasn’t been arrived at deductively, they don’t need to consider whether or not their stereotypical view of conservatives is rational either. They just need to be sure nobody thinks they’re one.

“....maybe the past five plus years has been an education, for them ...”

For some, maybe. But I go by their actions, not their words. We’ve been taken in by them too many times. They’re like the pet dog that keeps biting you every time you put your hand out to it; eventually, you just have to whack it with a 2x4 - or put it down.

Having seen her fellow libs in private and how they talk about everyone (their own scandalous politicians, minorities, the US military, religious believers, and "the political opposition") she has to be a liberal loon to not wag her tongue at how bad her "own side" is (not just that the "conservative work environment" wasn't as hostile as others might believe).

I hear so-called liberals say all sorts of things in "the company of friends", whether that be at a party, dinner, on facebook, or other environment where they don't expect to be challenged or crucified for "their honesty".

I don't agree. Many of the stocks I own have "price to earnings ratios" in the neighborhood of twelve; in other words, the company expects to earn one dollar for every twelve dollars of stock price.

It is certainly a "bet" in that one can not be certain that the company will earn that dollar, but after decades of successfully doing so, it is not a bet without some evidence to believe that the earnings will appear.

Amazon stock today shows a price-to-earnings ratio of 540. That means that the expected earnings might only be one dollar for every 540 dollars of stock price. Those buying such stock are "betting" that Amazon will continue growing and being successful at taking market share from such businesses as JC Penney, Sears, K-Mart, etc. If you have been to these stores lately, you might convince yourself that Amazon will continue to prosper.

You can compare buying stocks to betting on horses, but there is a lot more information available about the average company which can be predictive of future performance than I would expect to see regarding any horse.

I’ve put this out on my e-mail list.

I suggest that everyone read this article. http://news.yahoo.com/learned-liberal-talking-head-fox-news-143013301—politics.html. Sally Kohn, the author, used to work at Fox News and has switched now to CNN. She has some very kind words for Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and Sarah Palin. She’s found that Republicans, conservatives and libertarians don’t have horns and I don’t think she will be resorting to the usual name calling that characterizes other progressives.

While there is no shortage of name calling on the Right, I think that far & away, it is the armentarium of the Left. Thus, in Jacksonville, Florida, we used to have a Progressive Talk Radio station and regularly I’d hear statements like, “All Republicans are racists,” “right wing nut jobs,” & “Watch out for dangerous right wing extremism” are just three of what were recited on the station.

I thought as ‘liberals,’ the various hosts would be open to hearing opposing views, so I made an e-mail group consisting of the hosts. I must admit that I do enjoy being a provocateur but I try to do it to illustrate inconsistencies in their thoughts. From one, I received a demand to be removed from the mailing list with a broadside saying that I’m nothing but a neo-liberal (I have no idea what a neo-liberal is.). From another I received this as a response, “Look, I give respect where respect is due....You however have earned zero respect from me or my listeners You are pompus, arrogant inconsistant and rude. I recommend you keep trying to call your Idol Limbaugh and see where that gets you. And You can go to hell too!!! btw, consider yourself fortunate if your name is ever mentioned on air. you douchebag!”

I’ll plead guilty to more than my share of arrogance but with this guy, I have a lot to be arrogant about but I’ve never run off a blast like this.
